So, I am really getting into the idea of a seven string (I've been listening to A Change Of Seasons by Dream Theater a lot lately) and I fell like a jerk even considering buying another brand, but I just cannot even think of looking at a JP7. I know that the 7 string really isn't Music Man's thing but wouldn't it be nice to have one for the working man? A Silhouette 7 or something? Nothing too flashy, just basic. I'm sure I'm not the only 6 stringer on here that wouldn't mind owning a 7 string to play around with, you know, something that was nice but wouldn't break the bank.

All I am saying is wouldn't it be cool to be able to make a Music Man 7 string that could fit into the budget of the working musician? Yes, the Petrucci 7 is worth every cent and more, it's just that some very loyal customers would love to keep it in the family when it comes guitars. And let's be honest, the JP7 and or the JPX7 aren't the cheapest things....

I had to get it off my chest. Damn me for all eternity if necessary. If loving you is wrong Music Man, I don't want to be right.

in Hell... with cows...
i've actually had dreams about a Y2D 7... a silo wouldn't be too bad, maybe without the middle S pup. it's too bad the JP7 covers so much ground that there is little need for a second 7 string. a morse would add the option for 22 frets/TOM bridge, but that's it.

I thought for sure that SBMM was going to come out with a JP70 at NAMM. The price would be right but they know best whats sells.

Who knows, it could happen.

I would kill for one of those even! I figured those would be out by now. But yeah, who knows....

If an SBMM JP70 existed, i would probably buy. Actually debating letting go of the BFR for a JPX7 or Roasted 7. A SBMMJP70 would allow me to keep it though.

As an option check out the used market for a bare bones JP7. No piezo, inlays... Should be able to pick one fairly cheaply if you're patient and keep your eyes peeled.

Watch the for sale thread. There was one looking to trade a JP7 for an Axis. I'd consider that one but I have no use for a 7th string.

My thoughts exactly, don't want to speculate too much, but one like this shouldn't be much more than a grand I'd think.
