Question Why RPS Strings?

So, I was was wondering through the FAQ section on the on music-man.com and say the info on what strings are used at the factory. It raises a question. Why RPS? I have always used nickle strings. Truth is I don't kow why either. When I was a kid I went to a store and said I need a pack of sring they threw me some nickle strings and although I have switch brands often I have always used nickel. So come on EB why RPS?
