Will a 2EQ Sub pre fit in a SBMM Ray34?

Im hoping to get a Ray34 next week and already have a Sub.
Ive not played a 3EQ MM yet but im sure it will be fine.
I was just wondering if i could put the pre (and control plate) in it from my Sub, just as an experiment.
I know i will end up with a redundant jack socket on the side of the bass but other than that, if this feasible?

I'm guessing the trim pot spacing could be slightly different. If you can use the SUB's cover it might have a greater chance of working. You can't swap SR5 and Ray35 pickguards for the same reason.
