I currently have a EBMM OHSC up for grabs in the classifieds and have a buyer interested but he's needing it for his Bongo 4 string. This is the older style case (before they came with the model under the handle) and we're wondering if it will work for what he needs. The case was made for a Stingray and my SR5 fit in it just fine.

Thanks!

I have a Bongo 5 that fits into what i believe is the case you are talking about. It looks like it has the shape of a Stingray and lacks the Model Tag. It doesn't fit exactly. It looks like the previous owner did something to make the shorter horn fit; however, the cushioning does feel malleable. I don't know what material of the cushioning is made up of so yea.

Actually, the original Bongos didn't come with cases, at all. I think Bass Central was shipping them with G&G cases, but that's it.

Hey - I have one of these, unmodified. I'll try it with my Bongo 5 in a little while. I'll even snap pics if you want/need :).

Ok, so it fits, with a couple of "gotchas":
1) the lower horn... it fits in fine, as long as you make a little indent in the foam on the case. I just put my Bongo on it, pressed down and it made the dent needed. Didn't take a whole lot of force to do at all. It might've made a 1/4" dent in the foam, that's it... can't even hardly see the dent, and it doesn't photograph in the poor lighting I have now.
2) length-wide movement... the Bongo can "shift" about 1/2" length-wise while in the case.

Otherwise, I think it's a pretty good fit. Not as great as the form fitted ones that we get now, but still pretty good.
