I play Classic Rock/Heavy Metal. I love Power Slinkys for the Steve Harris/Geezer Butler sound. I have played a Fender Deluxe Jazz for the past 8 years with the Power Slinkys and have developed a dip in the neck between the 12-17 frets. I just purchased a MM SR4 and it is super fine. My question is will Power Slinkys damage my neck. I really need to go with Regulars and I want to go with Powers, by I'm not going to do anything to damage this neck. I thought Fender necks couldn't be beat for playability, by the Stingray is better.

Geddy Lee wannabe:

The powers can be used but you will need to set the intonation, neck relief and make sure the nut slots are wide enough to accept the thicker strings. If you have never done this before you may want to consult your local repairman to walk you through it. The Powers will provide more tension on the neck so make sure you adjust the truss rod accordingly.
