I don't know the answer to your Q, but where did you get a Pet trem?!? They don't sell parts, and I can't imagine anyone canibalizing their Petrucci to upgrade their SUB!

That french kid that put the variax electronics in the JP...I don't think it will work for a couple of reasons....chamfers...you're going to have to route under the bridge slightly and the block may or may not fit with enough clearance for the springs...

yeah i know ill definetly have to route eventually taht wont be too much trouble... ive got an eye for perfection and i think with much carefully planning and forthought i can get'r done hahah ( i cant believe i just said that stupid phrase). im definetly take my time wit it. but i just really want to know if the the post spacing is the same so i can just get it lined up right for figuring out the recessed tremm, eventually. I want this sub to be like an homage to jeff beck' style... but with a better trem. i know its kind of redundant b/c the EB vintage trem, after spending some time with it, really isnt that bad. but its somthign of intense curiosity that i feel compelled to discover, b/c if the petrucci trem will fit, im going to be extremely satisfied with my project and will be the door to future experiments with EB designs. Anyways... the block in the sub is not unlike the petrucci block, very big and thick piece of brass... i will measure the sub and try to guesstimate it.

God bless and thanks

Tony

If u want something along the lines of the Jeff Beck setup why don't you just set the EBMM vintage trem to float as that is all he does with his sig strat? They are both very good two point vibratos and the floating setup is certainly good enough for Steve Lukather so why go to all that effort with the JP trem?

Or maybe you have already done this?

Anywayz, good luck.
