they'll fit you MAY have to enlarge the hole~ the 250k pots use a bigger shaft then the 500k pots but it's just a smidge bigger chase the hole out with a "f" size drill bit and they work fine,it's a specific size for tap/drill system it's around a 1/4 inch, that's the us equivilent I'm not sure overseas on the system if a "f" is the same there?you'll get the idea they are very close just a little rounding out will do!

Spud they will fit but dome knobs are made for solid shaft pots and the AL will have a split shaft, they work but take a little time getting on the shaft so they look right

ok guys thanks for the advice.

Fing - a little repair I did on an old Marshall amp split pot shaft was to insert a piece of plastic in the split of the shaft, this I glued in with some super glue. - effectively making it a more solid shaft - (ok guys - too many jokes, not enough time!)

Would you think that this would help at all?

Spud,

Thanks for the tip, grand idea, I was going to replace the pots when the warranty was up but know I think I will have a friend of mine make me a couple of metal inserts, thus solid shaft, with the knew LE08 and the gold roller maybe S&T can secure some gold ones for you, but those you posted will work have used them before.

It was a tip passed to me by a great amp tech here in Cardiff.

I was embarrassed to tell him that I had removed the knob from my '87 marshall and tried bending back (opening up) the split in the shaft - cos the pot was loose.

It just broke off and left me seething. He could have replaced the pot but as it worked fine he passed the tip on.

If I remember correctly the credit card piece of plastic I used in the split shaft was perfect , and worked just fine with the super glue.

May have a word with Pete from S&T if I can wangle a trip to the Morse clinic next week.

(memo to Spudly - contact Daveb)

Another thing you could use is some small pieces of Aluminium.

Many years ago the office were throwing out all the old style desk form holders - made of wood and each compartment had a metal (alumnium) shelf measuring say 12 x 8 inches.

I ripped some of the ally sheets out and have used them for loads of stoopid things over the years (I guess nowadaze they call it recycling!)
