Yeah - I don't get much than a gig out of a battery, but, it is worth the extra few bucks for sure. I have been buying batteries in bulk packages at Sam's Club - I believe Energizers would up costing about $1.30 each...

I use the Shure PGX14 and I've never had interference or a dropped signal. It does not color my tone at all and I can play for about 12 hours on 2 AA batteries before it shuts down. I have used it in small bars and in stadiums and it has all the range you will ever need but it's a little more pricey than the X2.

Also if you buy a used one make sure the hz isn't the one the FCC opened up.
