I'm thinking an ash version of this guitar would be fantastic!!! Ash back, maple top, maple neck.

Jim, why?? Any "specific" reason?

Always been a fan of ash guitars. Own 2. I think they are extremely resonant and would offer another tone option with the playability of the JP6. It would be so nice sounding!!

A basswood body/maple cap JP w/ maple neck rosewood board would be so awesome.... one can dream? Right? WRONG!

The JP BR Proto type in caramel burst. Has a tone block too. and an arm scoop. COME TO MEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I've really never "checked" out Ash to that extent, I guess because the popularity of the other woods somewhat mitigated the attention of ash.

Ash has a soft midrange with a beautiful glassy top end.
