Yep, it's about 10 miles from my house but I'm going to pass.

I've never seen a lined fretless from that era so I'm guessing that's not original and that would make the price about right.

It's nice to know that I count!

i heard they can sound just like uprights but this...is legend...

although im sure a 2H classic would sound nearly the same if not exactly the same and look better lol

I think I'm one of the 9 - I always comment on the Sabre and how "they" should bring it back! Yeah, this one is nice and I agree - no lined fretless back then, so it's not original. If I could afford it, I'd buy it and get it fretted - that would look cool too - fretted and no face dots, but can't do it right now. My guess is it will sell pretty fast at that price.

I've already got a natural finished one, so I'm out.

But I'm still trying to figure out which way they modded it...de-fretted? or added lines to a blank plank? Whatever it is, the fingerboard sure is really dark (almost ebony like), and shiny.

No dots = added lines. IMO

It tempts me terribly but no space. I could probably make some though. I'm sick like that.

Oh man, that would be like the twin of my '79, but I too am concerned about the lines unless it was a defret. Even looks (though hard to tell) that the mutes are there. Too bad someone couldn't run over and have the guy pop the neck for a reading. I might be game - looks in great shape otherwise.

I envy you guys who have them your Sabres, but here's mine :D

Thanks for re-inventing them BP
