(starting a new thread because the other one was getting WAY hijacked  )

Just got back from the DT show in Dallas at Nokia Theater (really like the venue).

All in all, it was a really good show. I did the meet-n-greet thing, which is always fun. USUALLY it's a lot more 'personal' but the ticketing company effed up and sold 90! tickets instead of the normal MAX of 30! So yeah, they barely had time to get us through. So it was all greet and no meet this time lol. :D :p

Regardless, it was still worth it. John always remembers me now (probably thinks I'm a freakin' stalker) which is cool I guess. :)

This is a crappy camera pic so excuse the quality. I took it right after they signed it, I was letting the ink dry. He commented that it was the first BFR he'd seen other than his own. :D

I'm going to cover it with clear film like they use for paint protection on cars. It's very pliable and won't damage the finish ever. I've got it on my car and had piece replaced due to rock chips or whatnot, and there was ZERO finish damage. We all know cars scratch if you breathe on them, so if it worked for that it should work fine for this. :)

I'm going to pull all the control covers off, cover the entire back, then just trim off the excess.

They aren't plastic either, they're metal. Or at least they sure sound like it when you thump them, they go "tink tink".

John said the covers were different from his own. :)

Pete: Yeah it is, fortunately I've met them all about half a dozen times now. Good stuff. :D

Dudes probably think I'm a freakin' stalker lol! :D

WAY cool, Jeffrey!
I like your idea of covering the backside with a protective film. We tried some 3M stuff here but haven't found THE perfect film yet. I guess I'll try a car "version" like you mentioned.
Cool, I'll have to see whether they offer sort of a meet & greet during the European part of the tour.
Thanks for sharing !!!

Thanks. :D

Lots of the places that do window tinting here sell the film. Try them, they'll probably just sell you a few feet of it. :)

My buddy that runs a place that does automotive and commercial tinting swears by the LLumar clear/protection product if that helps any. :)

Extremely drop-dead cool...

I really hope that we would get a meet and greet session, so I can have mine signed!

Very cool Jeffery, Nokia is the best place in Dallas to see a show, would have gone myself but did not want to sit through the other bands, saw DT there a couple of years ago and it was great:D

I'm not into signatures on guitars, but that is really cool to have the whole band!
Nice. :)

That's awesome. Some guy at the Toronto G3 meet and greet was joking that JP said "I probably see you more than my family!" :D:p

I've only got JP's sig on my Backplate, on the inside. I met James LaBrie too, he's short, lol!

Awesome sigs, though!!!

BTW That sucks about the tickets being oversold; there should be some form of refund, at least.:eek:

I didn't watch the other band either honestly. The meet and greet took part during the first band and I spent most of the time during the second band in my car soaking up A/C (I was parked right outside the front door of the venue) talking to my wife and sending friends pics of the back of my guitar.

Yes, I am a horrible nerd. :D
