Well, first I want to say that I owned a SR4 SUB for about 2 days. I bought it with the intention of stringing it B-E-A-D. My fiance walked in and said it looked....Hideous! lol

Well, this evening I drove 55 miles through crazy Washington DC traffic to a Guitar Center in Virginia, who gladly accepted my return, and I picked up this beautiful 5 string in burnt orange (or is it burnt apple?) for a steal!!!

It sounds Awesome!!!!

So, I've never had an SR with a white pickup....what other color pickguard would work? Any ideas or pictures??

Looking at your photos, i'd say your new SR5 is Lava Pearl, a great colour!

That's a awesome combination with the white pearloid PG and matching PU cover complimented by the chrome IMO, why change it?

Haha Thanks Thorton! Lava Pearl!! Actually I like the way it looks as well....but thought it would be good to see what options. I like the gold or orange swirl, but am content with the way it is.

That SR5 is sweeeeeeet! White perloid is a great combo on any color, I would leave it just the way it is and CONGRATS!;) By the way my Bongo5 is Lava pearl with abalone, great color combo. But white still looks great.

Black or red leather. Check out the black one on my sunburst stingray. There is a picture on my profile page under albums.

I love that white on there. I would keep it just as it is, but that is just me. That happens to be my favorite pickguard on all of mine. Congrats on the new bass, she's a beauty!

+1 on the moonstone - that's freaking gorgeous!
Is that Black Palm in the "wishful thinking" shot?
That's a killer set up!

I have the White pickup, so I'm thinking it may clash with the abalone....I may keep it as is for a while...I was even considering....ummm....a CHECKERBOARD pickguard!! I don't know if that's a good idea huh?

I like the pearloid one you have the best.

The wood one looks good, but would have been better if the stain was closer to the color of your rosewood fretboard.

Thanks for the suggestions!
I may just keep it as is, or I'm considering the gold/orange swirl, or perhaps even a checkerboard one....the last option may be a little tacky though....

I, typically, like the neck and p/g to stand out from each other(contrast enough) ..which is what makes it difficult to decide on finishes w/pickguard & fingerboard combos. Sheesh, this is supposed to be fun! :D

I can't support the checkerboard idea at all, sorry. :D Don't see the gold swirl working. I went as far as having a sample sent to me. I agree with the others- because of the white pickup cover, stick with the pearl white.

...at least for now. ;)

lol...This is fun...nothing like having a bunch of knuckleheads decide the fate of my basses' appearance!

I'll probably stick with the white guard, no sense in spending $50 on a pickguard I won't like, when I know the one I have looks fine.
