vic uses these 2 strings

- d'addrio XL 220-5 .... low B gauge is .125
- fodera vw signature 5 ... low B gauge is .120

i bet xl string does affect how he can do the tappings easily
just wondering any of us uses the string on a stingray?
how does it sound? will it lose its growl by using lighter and smaller gauge strings? :)

The Powerbass low B on my Bongo is a .119 and 34" scale. If it were a gun, it'd shoot through schools.

And, an added bonus--no splinters!

Low action? Do a setup, good sir. Neck relief, saddles, and maybe some other stuff all contribute to the action. So follow the steps for a setup (which can be found via *fanfare* search button! *end fanfare*) and use slightly lower measurements for the tweakin'.

Now how on earth do wooden strings work?

In the news today:

"At the mere mention of a random bass guitar "soloist", a Music Man obessed Texas man burst into flames causing a number of small brush fires. The ER doctor was quoted as saying that the unidentified man was rambling about having green envy over something called a "bongo." The Texas man is expected to make a full recovery as long as he is not exposed to any bass "soloists" in the next few weeks."

UPDATE: It appears the man's eyebrows were lost in the fire. The outlook of recovery does not look good.
