was trying to search for "worn nut" ....but "nut" hasnt got enough letters for the search engine!

anyway i have a bit of a problem with the nut on my silo ...it has occured to me that too much wammy bar movment will wear the nut out pretty damn quick which is what im experiencing...so whats the best soloution to this....please.

...i have just put some film to lift the strings and protect wear for now.

but when i replace i would like to use a material that would not wear so quickly as this one did....

the other options might be a lock nut or roller nut but these seem a bit crude....i was just wondering what other people might do.

also is there a lubricant or powder to place at the string groove??

but yes replacing the nut is an excellent suggestion!!....i will certainly consider that an option.

slots can be filled..& properly recut....much like a cavity......but a lot less painful. it's only worth it though if you already got the tools you need. nut slot files .....pipettes......thin crazy glue......& baking soda.
a bit too detailed for me to type out though. ring me if ya want......

I have read somewhere that Chapstick works well to lubricate nuts...how you have it applied is another question altogether.....:rolleyes:
