I am just wondering if anyone has tried to retrofit an axis neck on a silouette. I think the only issue may be intonation...or outonation;). The neck plates look the same.

Like the Axis/Luke switch (or something like that), you probably would encounter problems with getting the right fit in the neck pocket.

This might tell you something:

Axis, width at last fret: 2 and 3/16"
Silhouette, width at last fret: 2 and 1/4"

I think you'd have some problems.

No. I think he likes everything about the Silo (pickups included) except the neck. That's the only part he wants to trade out.

Thanks for the information. It sounds like the axis neck would be too wide. I was considering the swap because I just picked up a Silo with a maple fretboard and I am more comfortable with rosewood. It is probably for the better though because on the flip side of the trade, my vintage sunburst axis might look a little odd with a blue dawn headstock.

oops, I guess the axis neck would be too loose and the silhouette neck too wide.
