ACOUSTIC guitars???

I was just wondering about that since a lot of manufacturers produce both acoustic and electrics.

Thoughts, opinions, insults, etc....! :D

I think it would be cool, but it would probably have to generate a whole new department for EBMM as for the manufacturing, up keep, repair, etc just to do that. The size of the company is a big factor as well. That would be a huge undertaking I'm sure at a huge risk as well.

Personally, I would love to see it, but I doubt it would happen.

I'd love to see something like the Taylor T5 from EBMM - think electric feel with that great neck and acoustic sound. Maybe a partnership with D-Tar to build in some of their acoustic preamp technology.

I think there's a great market for a true "hybrid" guitar...

I can see it now - I'll ebay my Martin for the new 2007 EBMM John Petrucci 7 string Acoustic with JP Inlays and a Piezo :D . Kindof like a "strat-o-coustic" but high quality.

Or maybe an Al shaped acoustic - that'd shatter some preconcieved notions of what an acoustic should look like.

Heres the scoop

Number one:
Currently there is nothing we can add to the acoustic world that Martin, Taylor, Collings,Santa Cruz aren't already doing a great job with.

number 2
I have explained that the market allows you to be in certain segments. Notice how many times Fender has tried acoustics...Fender is percieved as an bolt on electric guitar company. Sheeze, Ive been fighting for twenty years just to be considered something more than a bass company.....

I actually cannot think of any companies that excel at both electric and acoustic guitars or even produce both in any great quantity - Yamaha makes both , but most of their guitars are considered mid-range with the exception possibly of their classicals.

On point #2...I'd say industry's best kept secret...most cats that end up putting their hands on my guitars end up wanting them... :D
