I played a Corvette proline with active/passive switch for a while. I really liked the bass, sounded very good, but I had a problem playing it while standing up, it just didn't played as good than, so I sold it. I regret it, but on the other hand, it wouldn't have worked out live. I also prefer maple necks, it felt like the neck was a bit slow, not as comfortable as my stingray.
But hey, that's personal taste, it might work perfectly for you.

I just pretty much did the exact opposite. Sold my Warwick so I could buy another MM.

No...as a matter of fact, I wouldn't even sell my Stringray to get my Lakland....and THAT is an awesome bass bro.

Thought I'd add a more thoughful response. I have (had) an active Corvette standard. The neck is a whole lot different than my MM basses, and I finally realized that after about an hour of playing it makes my wrist hurt. I also enjoy the way the MM cuts through the mix, something my Warwick never did. Actually, it did - but it was all bottom. With the MM basses you hear every nuance of my playing and I really dig that. No matter how hard my drummer is smashing his cymbals my bass is cutting through. I've also become addicted to that certain MM sound and I've yet to hear it come out of any Warwick. Still can't define what exactly that sound is, but fer now I'd say it's a funky, rubbery kind of burpy thing.

Is the Proline Warwick's entry level bass?
I had a chance to fondle a Thumb Warwick at GC but chose the Sterling.
For me its in the TONE. EBMM Made in USA too. Win Win in my book!

I would.

But then, I've got three StingRay's and only one Corvette Proline...

I don't know if the Corvette's neck is the same as the Thumb Bass, but the Thumb's neck feels like your're holding a brick. Kinda square shaped. And did not feel right for me at all.
