This model is my first sr5, and I love it, but need to fund purchase of new bc sr5.

It is in perfect condition. wht sparkle (disc color) matching headstock, tort guard, new eb strings.

Played on less than a dozen gigs since I bought it new in feb '04.

pd just under 1300.

I'm planning to list it on "the bay" for 1150 ?

I'll sell it to a forum member for 1100, including shipping (to 48 states).

email me if you're interested, and I can send pics.

I plan to list at the end of the week

thanks

Steve

As always with the forum guys, I wish you great success in selling whatever you want to sell and buying whatever you want to buy (unless, well, you know, it's maybe a Warwank or something) but used SR5 prices are generally lower than what you're shooting for.

This is not to say you won't sell it at that price - who knows?

Excuse me Lord Bongo... I believe I had a thread closed for trying to trade a Bongo for something different. I still have it (the Bongo), so I guess no one wanted it? I also happen to have 2 "Warwanks". Guess which ones are NOT out with a Luthier for correction? :D

First off Im sorry that you have to have work done on your Bongo. Im even sorrier that youve actually spent money two Warwicks. My point, if you have negative things to say about EBMM basses, cool. Do it someplace where tha bill isnt played by EBMM. Please, Im serious, go hit the Warwick forums.

I don't remember the details.

Show me the thread and I'll see what happened.

(In other words, if you're that interested, you do the search.)

Don't be sorry I bought the Warwicks...I'm not. I'm sure I'll like my Bongo even more than I did, when it comes back.
I guess the point of my above post is that HEY!, I like MM products, I spent my hard earned money on one, but I also appreciate other products. It just seems that when on this site, I should feel sub human for liking my Warwicks. I come here and learn alot concerning my MM, and generally enjoy the banter. I need to get a SR5 soon before I explode. I love that burp! But I'm not giving up "another" bass for it.
I'll be the first one to jump when I'm on another forum and someone states a general "MM stinks" or something like that, just because it's not true...I'm not taking sides.
In the end, I guess I'm a little insulted by the "everything else sucks" attitude. EBMM make a killer product, to be sure. I do know that first hand, but I will also defend all quality axes that I'm familiar with.
Ford / Chevy, HD / Indian...on and on. In retrospect, it's probably a compliment in regards to the anti w brand. No competition - no mention.
EBMMLVR - keep up the good work and you'll make a Mod yet! ;)
Bovine, thanks for the calm and even tempered response. I'll not drudge the crap anymore. :)
My Bongo is back Friday and I can't wait!

This is the Ernie Ball Forum. If you go to the Fender Forum, you'll find people who say that Fenders are the best, and everything else sucks. If you to the Gibson forum, you'll find people who say that Gibson are the best. Go to the Ford forum, and you'll find people with Calvin peeing on a Chevy emblem. Why would you be surprised?

Get thicker skin.

Well, I do try.

We are all aware that people own other stuff. What bassmonkee said is certainly true, but I try to keep the bashing down to a minimum - although it's no surprise when it happens....and you know better than anyone here, I'd imagine, that Warwicks sometimes cause an odd response.

(I can identify, having been an early Bongo proponent.)

I try to let things go as much as possible, and sometimes the comments on other brands are mostly joking. Those I ignore. Sometimes they are not mostly joking, and this is a good time to remind ourselves that even BP has a Parker.

And I have a soft spot for Rumblefishes.

So let's all keep it calm and respect The Choice while remembering that this is, after all, the Ernie Ball Music Man Forum.

Sound good?
