WTB: Axis Super Sport

Is it OK to post "want to buy" or "for sale" topics on this forum. If not, my apology, and I'll delete this message ASAP.

I am looking for a MusicMan Axis Super Sport with a vintage trem and rosewood fingerboard. At the moment I'd prefer to get one with the MM90 pickups, but I may cave in and go for one with humbuckers if its the right guitar.

Color choices (in order of preference) is natural, translucent gold, orange, black cherry burst, honey burst, tobacco burst. Matching headstock color is also preferred. Hardshell case (preferred over molded case if available). I will consider other colors, non-tremolo models, and a guitar with the piezo pickup option, but I am mainly interested in an Axis with MM90 pickups. NO Floyd Rose tremolos, metallic finishes, or early 3 bolt neck models, please.

Does anyone have one for sale, or know of a reputable dealer that has a good prices on one?

Pete DuBaldo has a nice black cherry burst A.S.S. for sale with trem, piezo and matching headstock.. but it's a maple fingerboard and has humbuckers.

I'm sure he'd be happy to order one that meets all of your criteria, though.

Thanks for the heads up, but I really want a rosewood fingerboard. That seems to be the hardest thing to find with most of the Music Man guitars, as most dealers order them with maple necks. I had an Axis Super Sport with a MM90s and a maple neck, and the neck was too sticky for me. I also think the all maple neck is too "forward" and bright for the MM90s, and think a rosewood neck would smooth out the attack a bit.

I'll call DuBaldo and see what they will charge for a special order, but usually those are way more than in-stock instruments. Given the low resale value of these guitars, I'd rather not pay a premium for a special order instrument.

You asked if anyone knew of a reputable dealer that has good prices. The EBMM dealers who frequent this forum meet those criteria.

I don't think I've ever encountered a 'premium' for a special order with an EBMM. Perhaps, if you're shopping at GC, you can find their guitars at blowout prices for in-stock instruments. But my local EBMM dealer was happy to order whatever I wanted, for a very good price.

Give those EBMM dealers a whirl, you might be pleasantly surprised!

I actually meant to order that one with a rosewood neck since the other A.S.S and the Axis are both maple, but ooops!

me likey it too, thats going to go high..... I wanna find a super sport rosewwod p90 to try, cant find one anywhere.... anyone if the cleve ohio area have one? lol.....
