i broke a string about 80% of the way through our set on saturday. my buddy Ryan from Switchblad Riot (awesome band!) quickly lend me his bass while my other buddy ryan restrung my Sterling HS for me (he saved the day!!!).

the jazz sucked. soooo bad!!!! LoL. oh man, soooo bad. i played the intro of the next song right after i was handed the jazz and promptly turned around and essentially had to crank up the gain on the little mark in an attempt to get some cut thru. thankfully my sterling was ready right before the next song started.

the show was awesome! the Lucky Stiffs headlined and they're the best live act ive seen in a long, long time. they just got off a 70 show tour and were flat out on. great energy, great songs, great performance.

anywho... the show was rad. there's more pics linked from here for anyone who's interested.

my friend Erin for a rad Asain Man Records band called The Hot Toddies left w/ my bass :) the girls from the toddies took a break in their day at the studio to check us and switchblade riot. after our set they were off to do bass tracking and complained about their bass so i gavce em mine to use :) gotta let the people know the of the MM bass :)

Heh. You look right uncomfortable there, Mr duckk. :D

But, as a comsumate professional, you soldiered on and were rewarded with more Sterling goodness.

Or, something. I can't imagine the passive single coils were any match for the onslaught of the HS Sterling to the Markbass. I wonder if it tickled?

Seems that comparing a Sterling to a Jazz is comparing apples to oranges, two completely different animals. I would hope you'd have to turn up going from Sterling to Jazz.

Arin, dude...

Five Sterlings and then some and no back-up bass at the gig!

Some people just learn the "jazz" way... ;)

Funny, you just look like you're doing something wrong if you dont have a sterling (or any ebmm) in your hands.

yup. i dont usually get to play any "nice" places. so, yes, i have a bunch of sterlings but i really dont like having too much expensive stuff w/ me at a gig. it makes me uncomfortable.

the good thing about the punk rock thing (im sure this is true of many "scenes") is the comrodary. i know that if something goes wrong then someone will toss me their bass and someone else (or the same dude) will restring my bass for me.

I'm surprised your mate didn't do a runner with your Sterling! That's one way of doing an exchange. :)

Phatty, I'm sorry you had to do this, but wash your hands and burn your shirt. :D

Don't burn the shirt, as CBGB no longer exist it's going to be rare. I went to see a show when I was in NY for 3 years, and I got the same shirt.

So when will you get signed on Hellcat ?

Whoa, that's something I never thought I'd see. Eyes burning ...

Seriously, glad the gig went well. I'd love to catch you guys play someday. (Quit your job, go on tour and get up here ...)
