Hey, SM fans. When you see him live these days, what's he playing? The Y2D or the old Morse #1. He seems to show up in pics with the Y2D a lot. Just wondering what he plays more, how often he plays one vs. the other, etc.

In ancient China, the noble typically slept with his new wife more often. Imagine if he could have had her custom made according to his every wish? Of course the first wife took her place as head of the house. Must be nice. :D

as i saw DP live, he played the Y2D (hardtail) most of the time. for a few songs he played the FR-version and only for his guitarsolo he used the old Nr.1.

during his clinics he use the Y2D hardtail only.

I saw a Steve Morse Band clinic in september 2005. He used only nr. 1 then.

I aslo saw Deep Purple i January 2006. Then he used the Y2D with the cream covered pick ups most of the time. He also used a regular Y2D, and Nr. 1 for his solo.

Last time I saw Deep Purple was in June 2006. He used the Y2D with the cream pick ups most of the time. And Nr. 1 on his solo again.

I saw Deep Purple over here in Belgium in July and he mostly played a De-Purple Burst Y2D. Actually, Y2D most of the time. Number 1 just came out for Contact Lost and Well-Dressed guitar if I remember correctly. In Forest National earlier this year, Steve told me that he is not fond of taking a lot guitars with him on tour because the airline companies keep wrecking them, as you can also read in his latest notes from the road.

Nevertheless, his playing level is mindblowingly high and there were a lot of youngsters at the DP gig in July that had nameplates with Steve's name on them saying he's the best. Best Belgian audiance I had seen them perform to until now also.

Cheers, Tom.
