Question Y2D spec query/CS info required.

Dear All/CS..

Some of you know I have a purple burst Y2D with floyd which I've bought in 08.. I like it so much that I'm strongly considering another one but with a standard bridge.. I've looked around the web as well as the official EBMM site but I cannot find the below option;

- De-purple colour (blue with purple edges).
- Flamed/tiger-stripe top.
- Standard bridge.
- Roasted neck.
- BFR version..ish tere a BFR Y2D available at all? (there's conflicting info around that..is the Y2D a BFR anyway or is there one with a tone block with the different woods etc?)

Since I'm now residing in Budapest..what are my options? If it's dealer, ideally the locations would be in Hungary, Austria, Germany, UK in descending order.. Two of the same guitars would usually not make sense..but they're BALLS!

Thanks for playing Music Man! The De-Purple color was discontinued in January. The roasted neck was only available on a run we did for Guitar Center called "The Dark Lord Morse". We do not produce a BFR Version at this point with a tone block.

Your best bet is to check with your local dealers to see if any of them have a flame top, hardtail, De-Purple Y2D in stock. Good luck!

Thanks for playing Music Man! The De-Purple color was discontinued in January. The roasted neck was only available on a run we did for Guitar Center called "The Dark Lord Morse". We do not produce a BFR Version at this point with a tone block.

hi mate, go ahead and get one of the new colors. the new blackburst Y2D looks killer and a lot of guys here on the board (incl. myself) were GASing for this new color since three or four years now. and now it is possible for everybody to get one in the best looking color....i'm saving some money at the moment to get a blackburst one in the near future.
solarburst btw is very nice as well!

Hmmm..yeah I'll have to let it stew for a while..don't want to take it lightly. I was hoping there'd be a BFR version..was really wanting one not only with a standard bridge (that's a must, but also something that would feel the same as my current one and sound similar but with different shades of tone hence the tone block question above.. Maybe the powers that be will conspire in our favour?? BigPoppa..CS, if you're reading this, perhaps you might sigh and with a flick grace your loyal minions..

You could try to hunt down a PDN edition Y2D: Roasted neck, mahogany body with maple top, Honeyburst. Sure wil sound different enough to justify having two Y2D's!

Don't know if there are any left here in Europe. I know I love mine!

Had a look around google..looks like it'll be quite hard to find.. Thanks for the tip though, I'll keep an eye out. BTW..how does the neck differ from the standard? Pao Ferro?..

The neck is roasted maple, unfinished so super smooth. More so then the standard unfinished maple necks. The fretboard is indeed pau ferro. In feel it's more like ebony than rosewood. Personally I prefer an ebony fretboard a little more, but the pau ferro looks great with the PDN package.

Never played anything other than rosewood..I'd want to try it first making the purchase even more challenging.. If you or anyone else do happen to come across one in EU..please let me know. In the meantime fingers crossed EBMM will make another run (BFR, BFR, BFR...) of the Y2Ds!

if you have the chance to get your hands on a PDN Y2D - grab it!
don´t worry about the pau ferro fretboard, it is nice and to me not a big difference to rosewood.
the PDN feels great, sounds awesome and is a keeper if you have one.
i love mine!

btw:

and the neck is shaped like a 59 les paul neck - they made this for joe bonamassa.

Hehe..hmmm..would I change camps for that collection?? It's a pickle.. joe_web you sure have a nice bunch there..if you do get bored of the PDN let me know ..

BTW..just had a good hunt around the dealers and there are no PDN's around at all.. One in germany had it, looked a beauty but they've sold it in Jan!

Cool I didn't know that.. But isn't that kind of not like a Morse sig anymore..since it's different neck and it's made for Joe? They might of called it the Steve Morse Y2D Joe Bonamassa LTD..

on the headstock of the Dark Lord is only standing "steve morse" and not Y2D - but in the end it´s a Y2D - same pickups, same woods, same pickup-switch, but fatter neck-size which makes it sound a bit beefier to my ears.
and again the same old story: "the neck makes a guitar sound", i mean, more wood on the neck gives you a bit of different tone in the end.
at first i had to get used to the fatter neck, but now i love it!

and get bored of the PDN? i don´t think so. this is a beast! it´s brighter sounding as all the other Y2Ds with a fast attack...and the roasted neck...hmmmmm

I've bought al my MM with out seeing first hand and without warranty...never had an issue.

These babes are bulletproof!
