Finally got my petrucci l bought of Ender. A Nice Radience Red, with black headstock and Piezo. My first Petrucci, and l have to say that l'm quite impressed with it. I've had it for about a week now and love playing it. anyone want any pictures? Ender posted some pictures a couple of weeks back.

Thanks for taking good care of the guitar for me Ender. :p

Just wanted to share my joy with everyone.

Scott.

Alright heres my comparison, Note that the Luke l'm using is a Luke 1, so it has no Tone Control, my other Luke (with tone control) is in need of restringing.

Strangly enough the Petrucci is a touch heavier, l say strange because l've always found Basswood light.

The Bridge Humbuckers l've found very similar, but as l am still exploring the Petrucci, differences will become more apparent with time.

The Petrucci's neck is wider, l do prefer the Lukes neck, as l've been using Lukes for about 4 years now, so it's just habit.

But to me it's like comparing Beer and Bourbon, l love em both, but every now and then l feel like playing/drinking the other one.

I love the sound of the single coils on the Luke, but then l enjoy the sound of the neck pick up on the Petrucci. I will say though the neck pick up isn't as bassy as some of my other 2 humbucker guitars, l'm not saying thats bad, l'm just saying l've found other uses for the neck pick up than just solos and my clean channel.

Thats all l say for now, l'll update more later.

Scott.

A piezo pickup is built into the bridge saddles just like on acoustic guitars, and it allows a solid body electric to sound like an acoustic (sort of). You don't get the same wood vibration as a good acoustic, but you get the string vibration. My JP6 w/ Piezo sounds as good or better than my Ovation acoustic plugged in.

Yeah it's a great feature, espessally since l play in a band and some songs have a acoustic and electric sound in it. Ver handy indeed.

The piezo is a great feature. If you don't have one, you should check about getting one on the next EBMM purchase....you won't regret it.

Congrats bro,that's one sweet axe.

Thanks man, it plays better than it looks though.

Hey koogie2k, does your radience red have a touch of sparkle in it?
l always thought Radience Red was a flat red color, but when l first looked at mine, l saw the sparkle, l think it looks great with the sparkle in it though.

Scott, nice guitar. Yah the Radience Red uses the small fleck to give it that light sparkley feel.

Correct Jon???

That's a nice looking JP. When I bought mine at Thanksgiving, I knew I wanted the limited edition one, which was available in Radiance Red or Envy Green, so that color was a strong contender.

Yeah, mine has a touch of sparkle in it. I absolutely love this color. I posted before that I am not a fan of the color red, but this one is awesome. It really looks great in the sunlight....all sparkly and stuff......
