Ok. I just got my first musicman bass like a month ago (I got it for really cheap too, 700 NZD which is like 350-400 USD). Its a sub 4 string with eq, but the checker plate pickguard is so ugly! It make it look so heavy and industrial (since its textured graphite combined with the black neck/headstock). I'm more of a fan of more classical look. Anyone have any idea where I can get a new pickguard, or maybe you might have a template or something? Cheers.

Greetings, and I bring you glad tidings and good news!

Any Stingray 4 pickguard will work on your bass.

How's THAT for selection? Pick one - or pick three.

Nice bass, BTW - I love those SUBS.

Congratulations on the bass!!

Oh, and never mind the checker plate pickguard, just re-upholster the chair with Super Slinky Strings decor and you'll be fine!:):)

Nice bass! I would love to get a SUB for the other half to muck around on - stops him nicking my Sterling!

An abalone guard would look fantastic on that :) Tasty tasty!

I have used both Abalone and White Pearloid guards on my SR SUB and both look awesome! Congrats and enjoy!

Welcome, Bassistdude!

A python pickguard would be wicked on that SUB too.

Enjoy!
All the best,
Beth :)

Cool-I put a black pickguard on mine and I dig the look. I paid more on ebay for it than you can buy them new here. Live and learn.

Congrats man! I remember my first MM... a Bongo 5. I've played/owned some different basses since then; but I always come back to MusicMan!

Just... perfect...
