Yeah, I did it again...sneak preview (slight return)

There's a little more that needs to be done, but here's the first picture of my white Bongo with the neck reattached.

No further modifications pending. The tuner bushings that went west with the neck did not make the return to the east. That's all. In a holding pattern that will give time to condition the fretboard.

Oh yeah, nice tease. Congrats on another beauty. We're going to need multiple angles on this one, "puhleeze".

Satin refinish based on a Sadowsky roasted neck picture I found online with waterslide decals that I made.

I finally got the white Bongo put back together tonight. I still need to set it up once the neck settles. I plan on taking some good outdoor shots tomorrow. But, until then, here are some quick family shots I took tonight after the wife and kid went to bed:

Very nice looking! I love the Bongo's as they are my favorite Music Man bass but my only wish was the option of an unpainted neck and/or headstock as I prefer my basses that way. Were you able to keep all of the stickers on the headstock or did you have to remove them?

I only started wanting to refinish them after something happened to the finish on the neck. I think the Dargie looks amazing with the matching neck. But, I also like non-matching with most of the finishes. I will say that the idea of doing the neck of the Billy Bass with the same daphne blue was tempting. :D

The logos on the headstocks are actually silkscreened, I believe. So, they came off with the finish. Magnus helped me by making a picture of my pre-refinish white Bongo headstock into a file and then I made waterslide decals. I left off the made in SLO on the back--the Billy Bass has my son's full name and birthdate on it. And, I scaled the logos up on the new neck because why not? actually, I was thinking along the lines of the bigger Fender Precision logos from the 70s. It looks cool under the satin finish and it's different from the other two. I couldn't think of anything clever or meaningful to put on the back, so I left it blank.

If you look closely, you can easily tell they aren't original. But, they look damn good.

And, before anyone asks--no, you can't have the file to make copies of Bongo logos.

Wow, very nice!!! I like the color variation. Stunning visually..............

Thanks! These help salve the pain of not being able to order a 6 string HH in the PDN ltd ed.

Thanks! I was so excited when I found the Dargie in my favorite configuration with the piezos. It's great to have one HSp with Cobalts (Dargie) and one with flats.
