I just ordered a SUB 4 string from my local shop (Edmonton, Canada). I could not get a NIB, I had to get a bass from another store. Now the question, is the SUB supposed to come with a gig bag? The Salesperson said positively not, I thought they did. It's not a big deal, I'm going to use my old case, but I wanted to have something I could sell my old bass with. I have searched but SUB is too short for the engine.

Anyway, looking forward to being an Ernieball user. Even if it is only a SUB :)

Welcome to the forum lomky. Never say "it is only" a Sub. SUBs are great basses. I have a SUB and think it is marvellous. It also is a great backup to my Stingray. The SUB is surely one of the best value for money basses out there.

The salesperson was right to say that the SUB doesn't come with a gig bag. I bought a hard case for mine as I like cases as opposed to bags. It's just my preference. The quality of the bass also merits a decent case. I'm sure that you will enjoy your SUB. Post a pic when it arrives!

Thankd for the response. It was a kinda tongue in cheek sorta "only". I would love a Stingray, but after playing both to my ear/style/financial situation I couldn't justify double the price (for a new one).

Very much looking forward to it. I'm going to get the black one w/ a new pickguard.

I just bought a Sub at Long & McQuade in Brampton and there was no gig bag or case included.
Not even the Music Man polishing cloth.

Great bass and I love the 2 band EQ.

If you're going to change the pickguard how about black?

If it came from Brampton I hope they gave you a good deal. They were selling them off there.

As for a pickguard I like opposites, unless its a stealth a black bass needs a white pickguard.

Go Oilers!! (but please no rioting:) )

Yeah, no rioting allowed!

They wouldn't give me any deal. It ended up being $699

Hi Lomky,

If you order through the store from the Music Man company, you can request that it ships in a case -- it sounds like you've got it covered though. You can always order a gig bag or case from your local L&M.

We just got a Teal SUB SR active with blk p/g at the store and yep..... can't get better for the price, even with price aside the thing cooks!
and Beth beat me to it but yes, if you want an MM case or bag just ask the store to order you one in.

Hey, thanks all. You are getting me all tingly in anticipation!

It's really cool that there is such a great community for the basses!

weeeee! My bass should be here in 5 days! I hope it is in good shape. The rep at the store that is shipping it over told my salesperson it was in great shape. I should be christening it in Canmore Alberta on the 24th of June!

SUBS are fantastic steals!! I love mine. Once you change the pickguard they really stand out too. I'll try and post a pic of mine when I get home.
