I waited for 2 years or so to get my hands on a blue dawn that was right so when I bought this one I kept my fingers crossed and when she arrived it was more than I could have hoped for as she was totally mint with the plastic protection still on the pickguard! I doubt there's a better blue dawn ray anywhere (although I may be wrong) and that's the way she's gonna stay must say though she would look great in a really showy glam band?? I wasn't a fan of the sparkle finish initially but after seeing them in the wood so to speak its a totally different vibe as this finish is very hard to photograph due to the sparkle finish sending back false information to the cameras processor....But anyway I think she's a looker and Ernie ball will have a job beating this gorgeous finish...Nuff said

You are right about the Blue Dawn finish being difficult to photograph with a digicam. I just got a John Petrucci in Blue Dawn and it was extremely difficult to photograph

The best "sparkle" pics I got out of it were in "direct" setting sunlight coming through the window blinds.

Every time I see a blue dawn finish I get the worst GAS and have to take Tums for hours.

Ive tried to photograph sparkle finishes galore on these basses but always get poor results I.E The camera just dosent see what I do!!! very odd situation but one day I WILL GET A REALLY TRUE PIC OF A SPARKLE FINISH......ONE DAY
