My '79 stingray, purchased early '80, came in the tear drop case.
Additional toys: allen wrenches, polish cloth, keys, and guitar strap.
Surprisingly, I still have all the items. :)

It appears MM offered both the plastic teardrop case and the tolex cases at the same time back then. My '78 came with it's original black tolex case. The cool one is my '81 came with it's original white tolex case.

this is the plastic one:

black tolex, over the years I've mostly seen red interiors, but many blue ones.

This is the kind of stuff Id buy, fitted molded cases that fit easier in most places. If these cases fit a 30th ray Ill buy one from anyone whose interested PM me.

Hi, you lot seem to know a bit about musicmans, do you know anything about the teardrop moulded cases?
What year did they come out, etc?
I have a 1978 stingray, which came with one, will it be the original case?
Thanks, Steve.
