I am not sure but a guitar that has EVH signiture would add value to the guitar if it was sold say a previous 1500 guitar could fetch 500 more for having evh sign it

I don't agree with that.

Pesonally, I don't think signatures should matter at all... YAY! Scribbles! They resemble a name!! SCRIBBLES!

Of course, it's just my opinion, but I don't think someone writing thier name on something makes it worth any more then it was worth before.

yes, anyone here go to the calgary show?
Calgary show was great! Imperfect, as any live show will always be. A Van Halen concert for Van Halen fans. I'd pay full price and go right back again for more of the same, and so would my kids.

i never got to see DLR, so that probably would have been better!?

Thats so awsome EVH!Im glad that Van Halen is back to form and you got to see a kick ass show.It sounds like Eddie is mixing things up a bit in his guitar solo by playing the hot for teacher intro. He played the the little guitars intro when I was at the st.louis show. What would you say your favorite part of the show was?I thought it was cool when they did Humuns Being! Its always awsome when they play something that you were not expecting.Thats what made the tour with Gary Cherone so cool. They real pulled some stuff out of the archives for those concerts.I think they played Romeo Delight and Mean Street!Gary gave those songs an aggresive edge.

Calgary Rocked

:D I was at the Calgary showed and it was awesome. The concert was a sell-out even though it wasn't official (and that's only because they opened up more seats behind the stage the day of the show). I've heard some people say they weren't very "polished" but people have become so accustomed to watching these refined, robotic concerts that they have forgotten what a real live show is suppose to sound and look like. If it's not choreographed and sounds like the CD they complain.

I had a couple of extra tickets and I gave them to a couple of friends who like VH but are not big fans...that was until now. They could not stop raving about how great the show was..."best live show I've ever seen" was what they kept saying. They couldn't believe how the band interacted with the crowd and how everyone was havings such a blast. Great reviews from non-VH fans...now that's a true testament of how good they were.

2 hours plus of VH...AWESOME is all I can say.

I had a friend who went to the Edmonton concert and they totally agreed to how amazing these guys are.

I pity the fools who missed the opportunity to catch these guys live.

I don't think people were ever really complaining about how polished the band has been in concert. The concerns were more about the fact that Eddie wasn't playing anywhere close to what they had seen in previous performances.I have seen Van Halen four times now.I saw the Unlawful tour, the Balance tour, the Van Halen 3 tour and this tour.I found that Eddie was at his absolute best on the Balance tour. This most rescent tour botherd me because it was like it wasn't even the same guy up there anymore.I know now because of all the good reveiws that I just got an off night. He was clearly messed up terribly on something the night I saw him in St.louis.It was just out of character for a player of such earthshaking magnatude.I think it would be cool if they released a live DVD of this tour because they are truly an awsome band!I am 26 years old and got turned on to van Halen around 1990.they are the reason why I decided to learn guitar in the first place.I even have a wolfgang that I play thru a 5150.

Van Halen was BRUTAL in Winnipeg

Keep in mind everyone I love this band.

I have seen the 86 show in Minneapolis ( Monsters of Rock .. the first tour with Sammy )

And in 96 in Edmonton

And in 2003 I saw Sammy and Montrose in Minneapolis at Mystic Lake Casino

All the above shows were amazing

Then in 2004 in Winnipeg ( the last show in the old Winnipeg Arena )

Bad Points of the show:

SOUND SUCKED - now the old Arena can't be blamed for this ..... Metallica and Godsmack sounded unreal so you can't blame it on the rink. The guys behind the controls had no idea what was going on that night. You could never hear Sammy's vocals unless Eddy stopped playing. My ears are still in pain after all the high's and mid's screaming for 2 hours.

SAMMY HATES EDDY - it is very clear to anyone that has followed this act for 25 years as I have. Sammy would work well with Michael but other than that it seemed to myself that these guys just don't work well together.

EDDY'S SOLO - 17 minutes of pure hell...... please someone kill the power was my thoughts

EDDY'S LOST HIS MIND - My friend summed it up best - he has turned into Johnny Rotten from the Sex Pistols.

The only good thing about the show was the video and lights ..... other than that it was a 2 out of 5.

OK, y'all...I can't seem to come to belief with this, but some of the things don't add up:

http://www.vhstrungout.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=23096&Main=23087#Post23096

First off, if this did happen, wouldn't the radio and newspapers be all over this?

Second, why have we only heard this from 2-3 people, and others basically saying that the show kicked some serious a**?

Third, the whole gang was having fun before (in soundcheck, and with the fans that got in to see it) and during the show (families were there, crew running remote control cars around on stage during Sammy's solo spot)

Four, and this has been imposed on vhlinks: could this incident have been symbolic to the Peavey contract closure with the end of the tour?

Something isn't adding up here, guys, so take it for face right now. If you find out the real deal, or more info, please post it. This could be a bad way to end the tour, if, God forbid it's true.

I'm just glad that norm and I went to Thursday's show instead of this one....

UPDATE: I'm seeing just as much of this as I am the negative...

"This thread is crazy! I WAS THERE. The show was GREAT! This "Ed going crazy" thing has been blown WAY out of proportion. I can't believe JMJ's post that started this thread. My friends & I were all in the 3rd row and could see everything. The show was great & the band waws having a great time. YES, Ed did beat up his guitar, but we thought that was pretty entertaining! Yeah, it was kinda weird, but kinda funny too. Very rock 'n' roll. We walked away from the show thinking the show was awesome & fun, and I can't believe someone walked away all depressed thinking that Ed hates everybody!"

So, as I posted on eddievanhalen.com regarding their discussion on this issue, there where 5,000 people there, and only 3 accounts of this happening in this format. There's no media coverage on it, like they did with the Monday Night Football intro, Anna Nicole Smith acting like a jerkoff on worldwide TV, and Ashlee Simpson's exposure (IMO). You know damn well that they would be all over this like flies on sh*t.

UPDATE #2: I knew that things were not adding up...read this:

Was in the five star group last night. Right before the backstage tour Hilary explained that since it was the last show of the tour that it was basically prank night with the band and crew. She said that she knew o one for sure. Then she asked if she should ruin the gag everybody chanted an aoutstanding YEAH!!! She The Said " I'm not going to tell you, But I will Say Whatever You Do, DO NOT be in the Bathroom During RIGHT NOW" So during Right Now Sammy DID NOT sing the usual " Right Now, Right Now Right Now" outro to the live version, Which I found a little strange after seeing over ten shows that he always did it. Then ED let that Green Peavy Have IT. Well deseved to that peavy if you asked me, That guitar let him down on many occasions throughout this tour. As for the lack of reviews and clarity of comments about the last show. I'll try and put this nicely and don't mean to offend anyone, But Most of the people in the Five Star Group were Beyond Wasted by the time the show time came around. But then again waiting around for soundcheck and everything else for so long probably didn't help. Thanks to ILAA for the spread of Taco chips, Vat of Cheese and Fajita's. Really went all out for the Five*'s for the final Show of the tour.

UPDATE #3: Enough evidence has sprouted up in the past 48 hours to suggest that everything at Tuscon was staged and planned and if it weren't....I don't think there is any way a 14 year old boy would have been let near this alleged temper tantrum by his dad.

Van Halen is going to return. I know I'm right....I'm always right. It's just the way things are, folks.

---

So (I lied, but you can obviously see why!), and this is my final comment on this issue until a concrete update is in place, OR some bashers come out that I have to break the whooping stick over their hind, I leave you with this....I am handling this just as I did the news regarding the reunion tour to begin with. Until something official comes out regarding this issue, I will believe it when I see it. I'm not making judgment from 3 people talking about the horrible acts on stage, and in return, about 50 people otherwise who apparently had no issue with the same show!

Later...

WoW! What a thread!

I've just finished reading 7 pages of reviews and I'm speechless.
I'm an EVH fan from way back when. I remember, back in '78, wearing out the grooves on my VH1 album (remember those things?) trying to cop eruption licks when I was only 13 years old. Lemme tell ya ... any kid who could cop those licks back in '78 got mucho respect from the locals. :D

Anyway, after reading about Eddie falling all over the place, throwing guitars at people, and being totally F'd up to the point of not even being able to play, I have to agree with Darrell .... the media would have had a field day with it.
It HAS to make you wonder.

Regardless, one thing is for sure ... EVH was, is, and always will be an inspiration for me dispite the bad reviews.

On an unrelated note ... why is Eddie STILL playing those POS guitars? Uh ... I mean those Wolfgang guitars? Is he still under contract? I think if I were under contract to play that guitar I might throw a few of em myself. :D
(just kidding)

Yeah, think about the "anointing" incident early on in the tour, where he met the two gals in the bar, talked to them as he was SF'ed drunk, and then dipped his fingers into their water and gave them a "blessed anointment". 4 different cable networks ran with that...this incident occurs here, and no one, not even a Tucson paper had anything to say about it.

This is why we need to be clear thinkers, people...if everyone believed the first thing they read about this, then the workd would think that Van Halen was done. Get the fork...puhleez. It doesn't sound that way, and until I see something official from the group, etc. that speaks to the contrary, then it's still on, in my mind. ;)
