Outstanding!!
Soon you'll be able to go back to the future and convince BP to offer an AL with the St.V electronics.... :)

Hope it's everything you hoped for...all the good parts anyway!!

The way I see it, if you're gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some *style?*

I tried to get something uploaded last night - alas p'bucket was not up to it!

So long story short (ish!). I'm 18 months from retirement. I discovered EB guitars back in 2005 and have been a fan ever since! I wanted a car project to keep me busy - previously a huge VW Beetle fan a decided on something different - a Delorean. The uninitiated will slag this car off for many reasons, based on perception not fact :-( - I've read every book out there on the DMC 12 (props to the first person who gives me the right answer to why it was called a DMC 12!) - met Barry Wills the CEO of Delorean at "the end", when the company went into receivership, read the auditors report blah blah.

A Delorean it had to be!

..... it doesn't exist without pics huh? Well here ya go .... caveat - this is not a concours car - it needs work ... I mean, that was the reason for getting it

..... and here's the obligatory MM EB connection ;) ... ... DMC 12 and hardtail AL - THE lightest AL I've come across!

Here's a mate of over 40 years, a member of "The Team" who helped push it into the garage (more later!) - uncanny resemblance to the Doc huh? ... and I still wear a leather jacket that HE used to wear when he first started coming to see me play in 1973

The Eagle lands .... errr on a trailer! (never driven on UK roads, only driven 4400 km. Fuel tank out (new one to go in) and radiators out!!)

Me ol' mate (Doc Brown) had already noticed that I had some parts stashed away - is nothing sacred !!!

Well ...... "The Team" got it into the garage -I'm not used to the gull wing door, which as it was open, almost became a "cropper", as the car inched into the garage

"The Team" pleased with their work take some pics - a real party atmosphere ...... urrrrr without food and drink n music!!

.... the team .... well most of them .... let me introduce you, from left to right
Meic (the Welsh way of spelling Mike), Pete (my youngest a Geological Scientist, who like me travels the UK), my eldest son Ryan ( I can't tell you what he does as I would be contravening the Official Secrets act! ), Dave (aka Doc), Sian (Pete's girlfriend - who "saved the gull wing!" - thanks gal!) and Hayden - Hayden is rather handy (if you know what I mean) uhh he was a minder for a while - all legal and above board. I gave him guitar lessons when he was 14 - he never made it as a rock star lol! ...... and that's about it! Hope you enjoyed the "story" ?

The car was named the DMC-12 because of its intended original price of US $12,000.

Yup - spot on !! Alas it turned out more than double that!!

Thanks for that ....Yup the plate is associated with the Back to the future trilogy - I have to get it registered for the UK.
This car also has great historical significance. Mine is the last of 50 built for the UAE. 25 went to Dubai and 25 went to Kuwait. Mine was exported to Dubai - ironic that, as I have been to that country many times.
Only 30 of these exist - some were written off some were destroyed/looted in the Middle East wars. To the corksniffers it has subtle differences. Out of 9200 Deloreans made , they were all exported to the USA/Canada apart from the "50"....This car needs a refurb and not a resto and I'll keep all the UAE specs - it deserves it!
