Wow BP - thanks for a peek behind the scenes so to say. Your transparency is the reason why I really like what you do. Not to mention the instruments you craft .
YOu hope so and you take orders that get shipped in our case august....if you could sell at the show it would be unmanageable...but it would be nice to have a revenue offset.
Wow. $325k is a *hefty* price for a show, esp for a "smaller" company. Major kudos to you BP. As always, outstanding offerings. Not sure why all the critiques, to be honest. Just keep doing what you do best.
Hey BP, could you give us an idea about when the Sterling by Music Man's are going to release? Price? I can't wait to pick up the new Crimson Red Sterling Majesty. Also thank you for the updates and talking with us, really appreciate it.
Give sterling a day to breathe and contact them..its a four person shop in california and they are swamped....I dont want to speak for them...its not my company its a licensee

Thank you for sharing all that BP.
NAMM has become such a public circus, especially with modern 'instant information' like youtube, FB and the web in general, I think that most people (aka- the consumers / customers) forget or just don't realize that NAMM isn't designed to be a public show. It's purpose is for those in the industry to PRESENT their wares to the retailers, and hopefully take lot's of orders for said wares. You make a great point about the cost of doing business that so many end users, that are only concerned with trying to get a certain item in a certain color, etc..., never even think about.
That being said, having people and companies like you that share so much and give us mere mortals 'instant access' to that circus is a fabulous gift that I wish everyone would appreciate as much as most of us knuckleheads here do.
THANK YOU and YOUR FAMILY for all you do! You are appreciated!!!
BP, I meant 'hijacked' in the most joking way. That was by far my favorite video from NAMM. Really appreciate how much you seem to enjoy yourselves in the middle of all of the madness. Thanks for all the work! I can't wait to order my new SBMM STV.
BP - loved the show - and the "production" you guys put on every year.
Have to say, the EBMM booth was *crawling* with top names the entire show - nobody else compared - and that's a testament to the product quality that the top artists choose these strings (and often guitars).
Keep doing what you're doing - I'm just drafting in your slipstream enjoying the great stuff you produce.
I'd like to come back on what big poppa said about budget for NAMM...
Here in france there was a music fair in paris, it came back in 2006 after many years without any exhibition.
the first two edition were located in a giant place with huge halls, made to host every kind of conventions and trade shows, including the paris car exhibition ( just to give you an idea )...three days were all public.
They made the third one in a much much smaller place in the center of the city, ( difficlut to acces and park, and everything you can immagine ) but they asked THE SAME PRICE than the other place !!!
A lot of distributors / manufacturers decided to just not make it.
The fourth one was planned in the same place, same conditions.
So the biggest distributor here in france ( marshall / mesa / Korg etc...) who rent 80% of the space at the last show said " no " it was so expensive that it was more interesting for them to rent a CASTLE one full day with catering and everything and to invite every of their retailers...they make it every year now...
News I have from frankfurt are not better...they would split the show and send all the synth / electro part to berlin...
NAMM stays the last place to see spectacular instruments and your favorite musicians but it costs A LOT to everyone involved...
I know compagnies that don't hire musicians anymore to play their products but just let products managers making a speech about it, because...they don't have no more budget for demos !!!
I would love to go to NAMM but I am always at SHOT at exactly the same time in Vegas. Until you work a show like that, you have no idea what it takes. Besides the outrageous costs, you need to pay UNION workers to do anything...very expensive in Vegas. A very small booth is 10x10 and it is easy to have $20k wrapped up in the show without any cash and carry to offset. The big fellas pay well over a million for their booth and workers.
I hate the public looky-loo types cramming the aisles. I am there for business and the continuation of it. Not to hand out brochures to the "some-dayer" types. I hate the fact that anyone with some crap blog gets in with "press pass" as if they are actually reporting on the show. Like I said, until you actually work one of these 4 day shows, from beginning to end including set up and tear down, product stocking, marketing, etc...you just have no idea what a drain it is.
And stocking dealers matter. I am interested in setting up a new guy but we have buy ins. You can't just buy one thing for testing and evaluation, that's been done and it usually goes to a buddy anyhow. Anyone that wants one product to test pays 4x retail. If they pick up the line it all goes to the order and the product is a freebie. So far no takers. Pick up the line or don't, but either way the show is about conducting business. I am sure NAMM has the same intention.
Seriously impressive year EBMM....very impressed. Your guitar lines are becoming more and more popular which is great news. I do think having more 'indie' and 'pop' related artists designing with you is bringing in a another market of people who had maybe not played an EBMM guitar before. E.g. the stunning Valentine and St Vincent.
EBMM must be the only company who make real signature instruments that are unique and can be played by anyone. Not just another str** with different single coils.
Whilst I would buy an Albert Lee, St Vincent or Valentine over a Majesty, that latest high end Majesty is incredible.
