This StingRay 3EQ was completed on May 23rd, 2001. The color is Las Vegas Gold with the Rosewood fretboard. The body wood is Ash. This was not a limited edition run. It was originally shipped to Guitar Center.
That is odd.. is it possible that the DB is wrong? Or is it always right? Are there any more details about this bass available?
The bass does not show any marks of repaint or re-construction..

The answer was 1995 back then, the answer you got now was 1999 (probably typo).
hmm, even stranger indeed. But hte range E11xxx appears to be in 99. So gues the date is correct now.

E11292 - We'd be more inclined to think that the body or neck plate was swapped or it's possible the body was refinished, but anything is possible. If it was refinished, it definitely looks good. I double checked the serial number, looks like I made a mistake when posting the reply a month ago.
This StingRay 5 was completed on December 7th, 1999. The color is Translucent Red with the Rosewood fretboard. It was originally shipped to Syncro Srl. The only other information that is in there for this one is that it was originally shipped with a white pickguard.
Sometimes they have a color stamp in the neck pocket and hand written date if you ever have the opportunity to remove the neck. If the color stamp (nat, tr, trans) is off, the body may have been refinished or if the date is way off, the neck plate may have been swapped.
E18568 - This StingRay 3EQ was completed on September 29th, 2000. The color is White with the Maple neck. It was originally shipped to Kanda Shokai Corporation.
C00912 - This StingRay 3EQ was completed on September 7th, 2016. The color is White with the Maple neck. It was originally shipped to Willcutt Guitar Shoppe.
E99962 - This StingRay 3EQ was completed on October 20th, 2016. The color is White with the Maple neck. It was originally shipped to Sam Ash.
