E11292 - We'd be more inclined to think that the body or neck plate was swapped or it's possible the body was refinished, but anything is possible. If it was refinished, it definitely looks good. I double checked the serial number, looks like I made a mistake when posting the reply a month ago.

This StingRay 5 was completed on December 7th, 1999. The color is Translucent Red with the Rosewood fretboard. It was originally shipped to Syncro Srl. The only other information that is in there for this one is that it was originally shipped with a white pickguard.

Sometimes they have a color stamp in the neck pocket and hand written date if you ever have the opportunity to remove the neck. If the color stamp (nat, tr, trans) is off, the body may have been refinished or if the date is way off, the neck plate may have been swapped.

Thank you for your feedback!

Stingray 5 HH
E57589

This StingRay 5 HH was completed on January 3rd, 2007. The color is Translucent Red with the Rosewood fretboard & matching headstock. It was originally shipped to O Di Bella Inc.

Totally curious about my older Sterling str #F19846. A year of manufacture? Also I have had great deal of trouble with the battery box contacts flattening inside the box and then losing contact. Anyone have a solution? tom

This Sterling HH was completed on October 31st, 2007. The color is Vintage Sunburst with the Rosewood fretboard. It was originally shipped to Guitar Center. If the thin metal battery box contacts flatten over time, you can pull out the battery box and bend them back up to establish a better contact with the battery.

This StingRay 3EQ was completed on May 23rd, 2001. The color is Las Vegas Gold with the Rosewood fretboard. The body wood is Ash. This was not a limited edition run. It was originally shipped to Guitar Center.

Hi Joel,
Thank you very much for the information.
Whenever I look for this color on the web (Las Vegas Gold) for MM guitars or basses, I found very little (if no) information. That's why I though it might be a limited run.
Any idea on how many Stingrays were made with this color and when was the color available ?
Regards

I bought an Ernie Ball Bass at my local must store used, but I have a suspicion that the model they had it written down as was incorrect and I would like to know what I actually have.

Here is the S/N.. any help would be appreciated,

Bought a new Stingray 5 HH today and I'm pretty sure that it was born in 2016 but I'd appreciate it if EBCS would confirm its actual date: E97037

Thx,

TD

Unfortunately production number records are not available. This color was available in the early 2000s, we don't have detailed records of the exact dates it was offered.
