Half my fuzzes rely on varying the high impedance signal from my guitar's volume and tone controls. They squelch and squawk and can sound remarkably different with just a slight twist. This whole buffered output is a no go for me. Was about to pull the trigger on a new cutlass. Now I'm thinking no unless I can disable it. Otherwise I might as well have emgs in there. Not all fuzzes will present a problem, but my favorites will. So can it be disabled?

No, it's part of the design. You could rewire it and take it out of the circuit, though. Otherwise, you have to find a fuzz that plays well with a buffer in front.

Wow. Maybe a dip switch for 2018 Ernie? Sorry, just seems like such an oversight. They're nice guitars, but I'd immediately have
To rewire it to use it with half of my fuzz collection. Disappointed. I really like the trem and everything else.

Many of the MM offerings have onboard preamps, which are desirable- you negate any loss from long cable runs, have the ability for an onboard boost, etc. Plus the new Silent Circuit design which is on the board.

Sure, there's no toggle switch for active/passive, but it's still fairly easy to wire around. (Keep in mind how many people buy a nice guitar and spend more time replacing/rewiring the pickups.)

I have a Valentine and love it, but I definitely see where analog is coming from. It would be really nice to have a switch, even within the back cavity, to bypass the buffer when it's unnecessary or unwanted... especially considering the fact that a dead battery kills the whole guitar with the buffer intact.

I've seen Daniel Donato playing a Valentine with two extra toggles, and would be curious to know if that's what they're for. A quick disable/enable for the silent circuit and a buffer bypass... just for times when the setup and room are clean and one or both of those features are unnecessary... or when it causes issues with other hardware.

I know... everyone's a critic. :D

So far, for me, it all works great and the guitar is amazing... far better than my playing. Is there a switch for that???

If you find that switch on your Valentine, I'm going to need some help locating it on the Axis models. :D
