Just got the new Sweetwater Summer 2017 catalog today. Flipping through pages and pages of Gibsons, Epiphones, Fenders, PRS, I finally get through all the filler and reach page 25. There, I find the FOUR EBMM guitars in the entire catalog. Four of 'em. they take up half the page, the other half is Supro guitars... 602 page catalog, and only 4 EBMM guitars... St.Vincent, Valentine, Stingray, and the JP16. Really? Really???

If I'm not mistaken, companies pay to be in those mags and it's usually $$$. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong or if this practice has changed.

I wish Sweetwater still carried the Axis. Looks like I missed the boat. I hope they bring it back one day. I love the fact that they have their payment plan, and will soon use it on the Cutlass.

As a dealer, wouldn't they be able to order for you?

Probably, but looking at the above replies, my point is clear. Most of us know we can always contact a dealer like DuBaldo, and most of us know we can order whatever is currently in production.

By most of us, I mean most of us on this forum.

That catalog (and the ones from Guitar Center, Sam Ash, Long & McQuade, etc) are for all those people who aren't diehard EBMM fans, that's their chance to get hooked on these incredible guitars. All the vast average public sees is a tiny showing of 4 guitars...

I assume like most retail business, they ad/push whatever is selling hot. That's just business.
Like the rest of you, I'm a very loyal EBMM fan now and forever, and things like this remind me just how much I appreciate being part of this amazing and somewhat 'exclusive' family.
It actually took me some time and effort to arrive at this point, which makes it seem that much more rewarding.
Personally, I'm not sure what changes would result from a massive increase of EBMM buyers / players...and if that would really be good for the family or not...

I'd like to add that BP has mentioned on multiple occasions that they are exceedingly busy making instruments... so I wouldn't FRET about not having a good showing in catalogs! They are doing many things right... and it shows!

^ I see what you did there. Don't worry everyone, those catalogs are more about pushing the latest stuff.

To be fair, I bought my Majesty 7 from Sweetwater. Their customer service is second to none.
