Hello--- I recently picked up a Stingray II with serial #G003615 that I was hoping to find more information on. Also, if anyone has any scanned copies of the manual for this guitar I would be very interested to have a look!

Unfortunately the serial number database didn't come around until the late 1980s after Ernie Ball took over the company so we don't have the production records for these. Sometimes there is a date stamp in the neck pocket or pickup cavity that will give you an idea of the production time.

E90641 - This StingRay HH was completed on September 3rd, 2013. The color is Pacific Blue Burst with the Rosewood fretboard. It was originally shipped to Guitar Center.

E41700 - This StingRay 3EQ was completed on July 27th, 2004. The color is Pacific Blue Burst with the Maple neck & matching headstock. It was originally shipped to Strings & Things.

This StingRay Classic was completed on May 17th, 2013. The color is Classic White with the Roasted Maple neck. It was originally shipped to Musik Meyer.

This StingRay 5 was completed on October 10th, 1988. The color is Natural with the Maple neck. It was originally shipped to Kanda Shokai.

This is a Pre-Ernie Ball Music Man 6 String Guitar (Leo Fender). No official records exist. However, it's most likely to be a 1977 model as serial number G003666 is dated 1977. I have a Hang Tag manual for the Pre-EB 6 string SABRE Guitar. Very similar preamp and controls to yours. If you need a copy email me: HERE. If need be, dates are located on the neck heel and neck pocket on the body but the neck has to be removed to view them.

This Bongo 5 HH was completed on December 10th, 2003. The color is Desert Gold with the Rosewood fretboard. It was originally shipped to Guitar Center.

This StingRay 3EQ was completed on May 8th, 2012. The color is Tobacco Burst with the Maple neck. It was originally shipped to CMC Music.
