Just saw one at Local Pawnshop too

Raymondville.... A few miles away from where i live. (brownsville) Will post pictures as soon as i go back... Looks like the one that was posted originally. Not sure if its fake or not, probably is. What should i look for? What should i zoom in on when i take a photo.

thanks:confused:

Oh, ok thanks

Just by looking at others from EB website,

1. Pick Guard bolt pattern is different
2. Missing bolts from bridge
3. signature Music Man on Machine Head missing

(the bridge looks a little different on 40th Anniversary on Sweetwater website)

If i said something stupid, please don't punch me too hard, i'm completely new at guitars. Just saw a gorgeous bass and came here to ask you guys (the pros) for advice. If this one turns out to be a real one, i'll prob buy it and learn to play. If it turns out to be a fake, i'll prob end up buying a real one. I'll stop by again and take some pictures of it and post them here so you guys can see.

thanks,
santos

Tell the pawnshop. They may have records and ID of whoever brought it in, who may themselves been ripped off. Let 'em know, If however the store still has it for sale after a reasonable period to crrect the mistake, then maybe there is a way to report the store?

Fake :-(

went back to look at it again.... Yeap, exact same picture as original on this post.
no stamp on tuners
no bolts on bridge
screw pattern off on pick gaurd
on.... and on....

too bad!

Whats funny is that the original post was taken in Raymondville Texas, i saw another in Harlingen Texas, and this one is Brownsville Texas. Did not get a chance to verify the one in Harlingen but i'm sure its the same. (Same color) . They ALL are at CASH AMERICAN PAWN! Not sure if somebody bought a crap load and sold them to all these places or they just didnt know they were fakes. Did a quick search for the knock-off company that sells them, they sell for $369 new. one of the FAQ said that in order to get passed U.S. customs they simply put GIFT and under $80! CRAZY! Thanks guys, sure glad i came here first, almost bought the darn thing!

The one in your link shows one with an E.B stamped bridge on it.
