Hey guys, first post!

I have an older all black Sterling with rosewood fretboard. I bought it used in 2000, I know it's older because it still has bridge mutes. Curious to find out more.

hi guys!

i'm looking to buy 2nd hand silhouette, here's serial no: 93155
can you tell me some more details / specs of this one as guy doesn't provide any details at all.
it's S-S-S and with floyd rose, but what sort of woods were used, when manufactured (isn't it bit unusual 3xS ?)

thanks and much appreciated.

Is this the 4 string black 'Stingray' currently listed on Ebay Australia? The tuners, bridge and battery cover don't look right to me. It's supposed to be new but doesn't have a compensated nut. Also note the oversized 7 hole pickguard. Just sayin...

Is this an OLP model?

That serial number does not belong to an OLP model, we don't have the production records for those.

This appears to be a pre Ernie Ball serial number. The serial number database didn't come around until the late 1980s after Ernie Ball took over the company so we don't have the production records for those unfortunately. Sometimes there is a date stamp in the neck pocket or pickup cavity that will give you an idea of the production time. There is also a great reference website where you can compare to similar serial numbers, http://musicmanbass.org/mycustompage0052.htm.

This Silhouette was completed on January 11th, 1992. The color is Sunburst with the Maple neck. The body wood is Ash. It shipped from factory with a HSS pickup configuration, it may have been modified to the SSS by a previous owner. It was originally shipped to Strings & Things.
