I have found a used axis on Craigslist and the guy said he thought it was sold but the person told him it was fake . The guitar is solid red , did they ever make a solid red axis ? The neck does look like it came from a real axis just not sure of the body. I asked for the serial number to find out. I just don’t think I’ve ever seen a solid red one before .

From what I can see in the pictures it looks normal. Candy Red was offered on the Axis for several years, as well as a few other shades of solid/opaque red. Customer Service could confirm via serial number..

Looks legit to me from what I can see. Nice color, too, and I'm not normally a huge fan of solids.

Gotcha- saw in your album. Looks good to me too!

The guy said he had it sold but when the guy came there get it he said that it wasn’t real and it was a American neck on a Korean body. Still waiting for a return email with the serial number .

Hope you get the serial number and are able to confirm. Sounds to me like the buyer was full of it. I could be wrong, but I can't remember any EBMM-licensed guitars made in Korea. The OLPs were made in China, and that doesn't look like any OLP that I ever saw.

Exactly , sounds like a buyer that doesn’t know what he’s talking about

Hopefully the CS guys can confirm. With any bolt on guitar you never know if the body and necks have been swapped. If the seller was willing pulling the neck might provide some clues stamped or stickered in the neck pocket. Also don't discount it could be a custom replacement body or someone had the original body refinished at some point. All speculation of course, I'm just throwing some alternative ideas out there. It might be simply this was a special run done for a specific retailer as well. Wait for the CS to confirm.

If it plays well, has no major issues and the price is right I say go for it. Best of luck.

I got the serial number , I’ll just wait and see how it plays out .
There also was a guy on reverb selling an axis without the electronics for a good price . I happen to have a pair of axis pickups at home so it would have been perfect and he actually sent me an offer because he wanted it to go got someone who might have the pickups. Unfortunately I was in the car at the time and I missed the offer and someone bought it. I was a bit bummed too . It had a nice top on it.

Guitar center in Memphis has had a used one for a while in solid red. I tried to trade for it some time ago.

It looks as though it has sold as I’m not seeing it any more either. They did have it for quite a while. I tried to trade a USA Charvel for it with no luck. It was solid red. I played it several times.

That was definitely a strange listing. At one point, he had it listed with and without the electronics. And I couldn't figure out why you'd remove the logo from the headstock. Did look to be legit, just strange.
