Well, I surprised even myself. As an update to my post last month, I pulled the trigger on a 30th Anniversary StingRay5. For the longest time, I was leaning towards sticking with a 4-string, but this 5er just felt as comfortable as a well-worn flannel shirt! (Had to sacrifice the most expensive bass in my modest collection, but I'll manage.)

Plus, in the last month, I've lined up a fairly regular P&W gig and a sub slot for 2 different bands, so I figured the 5 would help me roll with any key changes. Will be keeping any eye on the new '18 Stingrays when they come out this summer, as well.

I'll post pics asap.

Very nice and congratulations! EBMM did an amazing job on the 30th Anniversary SR5. It was a great way to end an era of how they were too and blend some features of the next gen Stingrays in it as well, with the roasted maple neck.

My wife is going to kick me square in the nuts but with the new Stingrays, there are at least 3 or 4 I’m going to try and get this year. 2 Stingray 5 H’s and 2 Stingray 4 H’s. The 5’s will be black with roasted maple neck and fretboard and cruz teal. Then on the 4’s it will be black with roasted maple neck and fretboard and ivory white with roasted maple neck and fretboard.

Jay... Is your new Guitar Store just really a front to fund your EBMM addicition a little easier? Just kidding bro, but i am also eyeing a Cruz Teal Stingray 4H for this year (but you already knew that!). JOSH

Well, I’m not going to lie, I do plan on buying from myself too but that is not the main reason. I love EBMM and was getting frustrated that almost every store I spoke to that carried them had salesmen that had little to no product knowledge. I want to see EBMM grow as a brand and so after mulling over the decision, I decided to open my own store and make EBMM the premier brand that I sell. I still have a lot of work to do in getting my store set up but once I do, I will sign my contract and place my initial order.

With the basses I want for personal use, I plan on refinancing my house in the next few months to upgrade certain things. When I refinance, I plan on adding in a little extra for some bass purchases.

All the best with your shop Jay.

I'm looking at ordering two new EBMMs:-

#1 - Cruz teal SR5HH
#2 - Aqua sparkle SR4HH

Just waiting for them to become available in the UK and I'll be off to Andertons to order them.

I will place an order on a 2018 SR5 with roasted maple neck and maple board as soon as I find a dealer who will take my order! Can't wait!
