A quick update for everyone, after chatting with the helpful EBMM team, they made me an offer to purchase the new stealth black hardware, which I did and received the parts today.

Happy now :) (pics attached.)

Congratulations on your persistence! Great result. Can you share who you contacted at EBMM, because I am in exactly the same boat as you. My hardware was discoloured from day 1, and patches wore off within 3 hours of playing. I would dearly love to replace it with the matt black but was told here in Australia by the EBMM distributor that it was "too hard".

Hi Jamie.
I sent a mail to [email protected] , I explained my concern, and [email protected] took it into account, got back to me and nicely offered me a 50% discount on buying the new matte black hardware. The only thing they ask for is to either : send the bridge back to them / or send the bridge back to the shop where you bought the guitar / or send them a video of you destroying the bridge (true story), as it's proprietary and they don't want it to be available off the guitar. That's maybe why your distributor told you it was "too hard", that's what I was told too at first. But I'm in France, and in the end it was not that bad to sort once I got in touch with them directly, that's why I'm perfectly pleased now.
I gave the old bridge back to the shop where I bought my Majesty, I kept all the other hardware because I'm allowed to, and bought the new matte black full hardware with a 50% discount price.
For your information, that cost me around $350 for the full hardware + shipping (50% discount included.)

HTH mate :)

Thanks, that's a big help. I'll be sure to contact them. Was it easy to remove and replace the bridge? I've previously been advised it is extremely difficult and high risk for the instrument.

It is very easy. Just unplug the piezzo cable from inside the rear lower cavity (it's a quick connector really easy to unplug/plug, no soldering needed fortunately), then route it through the hole that's made for it to go out, remove the strings, remove the springs, and you're done. That is really a 2 out of 10 difficulty, not more. Took me 15 minutes to install everything back on the guitar including the bridge, without any hassle (I would say that the most "difficult" part is to put back in place the rubber grips on the 3 knobs, be sure to buy 3 more of them than needed because they break easily when removed or installed), and I'm no guitar tech. :)

Of course, be careful to hold everything in place when you remove or put back in place the bridge and its springs (using your fingers, a towel on your knees or soft adhesive or anything else), as if not it may fall when guitar upside down and damage the guitar body, but that's the same for every guitar in the world with a floating trem anyway.

I installed everything, and now my guitar is as new again, as I like them to be.
I hope the new matte black plating will last for a long time unlike the pearl black, but looking at it, it already looks way more resistant.

Can I check, did they send you new vol/tone knobs and pickup switches as well, or just bridge and tuning keys? Can’t quite tell from the photos. Many thanks, Jamie

They will send you knobs and toggle switches if you wish. Bridge cover, saddles and pivot posts are also available. The only thing they won't sell you is the bridge plate as it's the only proprietary part. All of the above applies in the situation where you only wish to buy those things.

The original Majesty owners however, can also upgrade to the new matte black hardware in full (including the bridge plate).

Yeah I looked into getting the stealth black hardware for my Polar Noir after I received my Monarchy. Since it’s not the original finish that came with the guitar, I’d have to pay full price for the hardware. I guess the original hardware doesn’t bother me that much :p

I see what you mean, quite expensive eh? I am ordering a chrome set for the Artisan (no bridge plate), but keeping the golden saddles as a special touch of gold, and truss rod wheel obviously. All else are to become chrome, pictures soon... =)
