New to me Stingray RS Saddle screw height, gig bag recommendations?

Hi all,

First time EBMM purchase after lusting over them for years. I picked up a 2019 Stingray RS in "vintage sunburst", with a great top, and nice roasted maple neck. I can't stop looking into it, mesmerizing!

The action is nice and low measuring 1.5 at the 12th, neck relief feels good with no buzzing.

The one issue I'm having is that the saddle screws are way too long and poking my palm when playing. I see a lot of people recommending shims, coming from jazzmasters i'm used to shimming guitars. Since everything else feeling good, I'd rather forego the shim and replace the screws with shorter ones. which leads me to ask:

Whats the correct screw size/thread for these saddles?

I plan on taking the guitar out and about, but I can't lug the travel case on the subway that easily, is there a sturdy gig bag that works well for a Stingray RS?

Hi there and welcome to the forum family! That is a BEAUTIFUL guitar!

I don't have the specifications for those screws other than use a 1.5 mm hex wrench to adjust. I'm pretty sure that any saddle adjustments screws with 1.5 mm hex adjust will work.

As for gig bags, a lot of us here love our Mono cases. I have a M80 guitar Sleeve that I love. It's the thinnest and lightest of the Mono cases, excellent protection and very comfortable on my back. The new Vertigo is excellent too, even better protection and better storage but a little bulkier.

In addition to @DrKev s feedback; check to make sure the neck relief is right. I run really little relief and a very low saddle height and my screws aren't exposed. Enjoy, I love my Rays!

Thanks so much for all the responses I don't have a notched straight edge but using a capo and holding down the string, everything looks good neck relief wise. I may take it in for a setup to verify.

Saddle screws were a match for an 80s fender bullet that I have, but not a modern fender. I've ordered some m3x6mm saddle screws off amazon, will report back when they arrive.

Wondering if you ever got a chance to try these screws? Did you just order some grub screws? I want to shorten the saddle height screws on my EBMM Sabre and I'm wondering if they're the same.
