Hi guys!
I hope everyone be great!
May you help me with a question please?

The Music Man JP6 is really out of production? Or is only the production suspended?
It not current listed among models (only JP15 and Majesty), but the JP6 page shows "new colors coming soon".

I am wandering... Will JP6 be available to order in some time soon?

Thank you very much!

All the best!

If memory serves me correctly, The JP6 under that name hasn't been made for a very long time. It kept evolving... started with the JPX I believe, then 12, 13, 14 and eventually became the JP15. That's where the development stopped on that guitar then the Majesty was introduced.

I believe the 20th anniversary was the final send off for the JP6. I’d be shocked if there weren’t limited runs in the future, but with JP focused on the majesties, I don’t think it will come back in full production. But I have no inside knowledge.

Hi fogman, thank you very much for answer.

So, I miss opportunity to buy this comfortable guitar… And I don’t know if JP15 is so comfortable as JP6.

Who knows in the future it appears to order again…
All the best to you!

Hello jump, thank you also for the post! Really!

Yes, maybe you are right.
Probably it not will come back in full production. But will be great if was possible to order.

Perhaps, I should conform about it and don’t create expectations.

Thank you, dude!
All the best to you as well!

They are always available used. If that's what you really want.

Hi, Glenn, thank you for your suggestion!
I really appreciate it!

So, I don’t live in USA, and here is very difficult to find a unit in good condition.

Thinking better, I will conserv the hope, but with lucidity.

Thank you very much, dude!
All the best and a great weekend!

Where are you located?

Always check the for sale and EvilBay/Craigslist (Reverb) thread here.

Don't give up hope if that's what you want and used you can sometimes score some super deals.

If you want new the JP15 might scratch your itch.

At the end of page says about coming soon…
I'm guessing you are not in North America and you are looking at a Music Man website for your country that has not been updated.
If you go to:

www.music-man.com/instruments/families/guitars/john-petrucci

you will see that only the 3 models are offered and the JP6 is not 1 of them.
As Glenn mentioned; your best bet for a JP6 is buying one used. The model as mentioned has been an evolution and they won't be going backwards. There have been so many refinements on the guitar that they don't even make a lot of the parts for the original JP6 anymore.

Hi fogman!
Thank you man, you clarify the things.

I will pay attention to the next oportunity when it comes.

By the way, did you play the JP15? Has it the right arm contour so comfortable as the JP6?

Thank you very much for your interest about this topic!

All the best!

Hi Glenn!
Thank you again, very much! Especially for your incentive. Indeed!

So, I live in Brazil, and, despite the beautiful country, musical instruments are very difficult to buy here, because of taxes especially. The prices practically double. And the used ones not even are in good condition.

I make mistake on this purchase. If I knew about end of production, I would have bought used before or a 20th. Anyway, remained as a learning experience.

By the way, as I questioned before, did you play the JP15? Has it the right arm contour so comfortable as the JP6?

Thank you very much again!
All the best to you!
Have a great Sunday!

So from the image it appears to I've never played a JP15, I did own a JP6 a very very long time ago.

Link to JP15 ---> JP15

I recommend to just keep surfing EvilBay and Reverb in your area, you never know what might pop up man and keep saving for one.

EBMM sells internationally.

Glenn |B)

Hi Glenn, how are you?
Thanks very very much!

Yes, they began to sell internationally here and this is really great.

I saw that JP15, but once I never played it, I am waiting to test one before, to compare sensation with the JP6.

I won’t give up, and I am saving for JP.

All the best, man!
And thank you really for the interest on the topic!

Hello,
I have played the JP6 many years ago when it was originally released. It was so nice, I couldn't put it down.
Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to play any of the Petrucci models since. I would imagine they only got better.

There are number of Petrucci players on this forum that have played them all. I would assume it's just a matter of time until they come on the forum and reply to your questions.

Thank you, man!

I can imagine all the comfort lol.
Yeah, some cool features has come, like push pull.

Let’s wait the guys appear and tell about the difference between JP6 and JP15, especially about comfort right arm.

All the best, man!
Thank you very much again!

That's pretty much the reason: John is playing the Majesty exclusively now, both in studio and live. So it makes sense that new investments are focused on the Majesty.

But yeah, limited runs are very likely. Personally I greatly prefer the original JP6 to any other, specially because it's playable without batteries.
