Hello all -

A few years back I picked up a Steve Morse signature guitar in Limited Edition Envy Green from 2004. I haven't seen another like it and I'm wondering if anyone else plays or owns one. I did see a Bongo Bass in envy green for sale once on Reverb, but other than that the color seems to have been pretty rare.

Love the axe - happy Monday...

I have a Steve Morse and I love it. I have never seen an envy green. Would love to see yours!

A former member here who passed had an Envy Green AL. I think another forumite picked it up. Cool run. How about some pics?

Great guitar. I found that some electronic modifications were required for my taste, and figured Steve would approve of the spirit even if not the modifications.

Replaced stock pickups with Wilde Bill Lawrence L500 set, which I love and have used in most of my guitars for the past 30 years. When the slanted pickup toggle broke, I removed the it, the bridge-only switch, 3-way selector and replaced with a DiMarzio Super Switch and push/pull pot on the tone control to tap the humbuckers. I wired it up so I get:

Position 1: Bridge only
Position 2: Bridge/Bridge single
Position 3: Bridge/Neck
Position 4: Neck/slanted single
Position 5: Neck only

My first iteration had the humbuckers tap automatically in positions 2 and 4, but decided a manual tap worked better. Lastly I wired up the toggle for a standard coil tap when it's up and a McCarty mod when down.

It's pretty much the only guitar I play any more. I love it.

Nice! I love that.

I had L90s in my Morse for quite a while. (I've got L500s in a homemade Strat.)
I got turned on to the L500's when I bought a Les Paul that had replaced P90's with them. I moved the P90-sized Bill Lawrence pickups to an S-style guitar and have had them in my main guitars ever since. There's something about the neck position, especially, that seems to have the clarity and note distinction of a single-coil, but with a little more "girth" and lack of hum.

I was 20 minutes too late putting an offer in on an Envy Green Silhouette Special. It was back in 2008 (or there abouts) I think it was forum member MBGreene (RIP). I was gigging that night. My GF at the time was logged into the forum for me checking my PMs. When she called to give me the bad news I was on a set break. Gutted I was!

That was when we all changed our profile pictures into green ones, wasn´t it? Mine still is. I believe it´s an Dargie Delight Morse. Not mine...
Was it really 2008?

2008 when he was selling that guitar. Michael Passed away in Dec 2010.

I love how possibly the least well known of the 2000s limited editions still reminds us of that old forum friend. 💚

Actually, when I got in touch with Music Man customer service, they told me that, "The color is Limited Edition Envy Green. This was part of our 2004 limited edition run that was only open for ordering from July-September 2004."

Yes, it was 2004. There were two limited editions in 2004, Envy Green and Radiance Red (which later became a standard color for a short while). BUT we were saying it was 2008 when Michael was selling his Silhouette Special.
