Chuck Norris!? Note to self: be very nice to Dudley should you ever meet him!

Blues Saraceno credits him with building his favorite guitar! :)

"My main guitar is an Ernie Ball music man gold sparkle "Albert Lee" which was build for me by a gentleman name Dudley Gimble at the Ernie Ball shop. In my opinion the Ernie Ball is the best quality guitar and Bass that are made today for new guitars and that is why I have been playing them. My guitar is an alder body with 1/2 inch maple top. I had them put a maple-top on it for more cut, more punch closer to a Les Paul. I have a maple neck which is very large (I have always had big necks on my guitars)

mods; hope the quote is ok. edit away if not.

I've asked before if we could have an insight into the "Dudley Gimple" story - but I guess there's only so much time in the day.

Would be great to meet him one day.

Gotta hit an EBMM event! He was everywhere at the Open House, same with Dallas, and tells me he'll most certainly be at Desert Domination.

You show up at these parties and you never know who you'll get to play with!

Great thread resurrection, I told Dudley in January he was the smartest guy on the planet. Here's a video from a few years ago with Dudley

I missed this thread the first time around. Glad it was brought back. I tremendously appreciate the contributions of Dudley, BP, and all on the EBMM team!

How did you hear about Dudley Gimpel?

He is a mysterious man.

Actually he is the chief designer for all we have done with a little help from me. Together we have designed many guitars and basses...we now have Jon Watkins and Drew Montell that are firing away Too

The Music Man People are superior to most in the Engineering department, That's why they are the Best instruments made in the USA Period.

Sorry to resurrect this zombie thread, but I'm looking for contact info on Dudley Gimpel and this forum seems to be the logical location.
I bought a 1973 Gibson SG custom from a collector recently and Dudley's name is etched into the underside of the pick guard.
I'm just looking for a little history on this guitar. Thanks, guys.

Dudley is retired after nearly 40 years working at Music Man. If you need to contact him, you should call Music Man directly and ask them to reach out for you.

Thanks, brother.
I never heard of Dudley before buying this guitar.
A google search brought me here.
I dont want to bother him, I'm just curious for a bit of history of this guitar.
This SG was somebody's favorite player.
It's got serious mojo and LOTS of miles on it.
The neck and bridge are Patent number sticker pickups and the middle is a tarback.
Except for at least one refret , everything seems stock as the solder points look original from Gibson.
The seller had many guitars in his collection and couldn't recall the back story on this one.
Much appreciation and gratitude to any and all that shed light on this .
