Does your friend have Home Owners, Renters or Full coverage car insurance? Depending upon his policy (or that of his parents) he could file a claim. I have had success doing this.

Hey! He actually contacted his Home Owner's Insurance about it and they said they could recoup him about $300 for the loss which is a shame. That would have been a nice fallback option but it wouldn't cover enough to pay for a replacement

I hit three pawn shops close to me this afternoon. The first was closed, the second only deals in jewelry now and the third had a couple of Squires, a Danelectro and a couple of Yamaha acoustics. I know it was a long shot, but wanted to check them out.

Good luck in your search.

fred

Thank you so much Fred, that means a lot. We're still waiting and calling around, so we'll see what happens.

Awful, awful, awful. I know Tyler was psyched to get that guitar earlier this year and I hope it is recovered quickly and intact so he can continue rocking it.

Thanks Pete! Yeah man, it's really upsetting that this would ever occur to that of all guitars, he even let me take his XI off of his hands in a trade because he was so confident in relying on the White Pearl. Hoping it comes back to him soon!

If this doesn't get recovered perhaps we could take up a collection to help replace it for him? I would be willing to donate some money toward a good cause!

EDIT: I apologize if this breaks forum rules, I just would like to help!

That would be awesome, but not something he said he wants to do now. He really wants his back, but that would be a huge help to get him to afford another one!

Thanks for the support everyone!

I hate to hear this kind of injustice done by an evildoer. I'm in the Midwest, so there really is nothing I can do (believe me, if I could I would). Hope it turns up somewhere.

This is nuts. I found this guitar at a guitar center in ocean, NJ. It’s been years since this post but I loved the way this guitar played so I took a picture of it to do some research and lo and behold it’s the same serial number as this guitar. That is insane. I hope you see this post.

Also...looks like it was sold on Reverb just a few months ago from a seller in Maryland.

Great detective work. lol. It’s crazy to see the history of this guitar. It came from Maryland so maybe the person who stole it decided to sell it a few years back. The original post said it was stolen from Baltimore. Also weird that it’s been through so many places. Nobody wanted to hold on to it? It played really well. Felt incredibly comfortable. I knew it was an older model, I believe guitar center had it for $1700 which isn’t horrible for a music man. Great axe, shame the original poster couldn’t reconnect with it. I did send them a message.

@beej any chance the Forum database has Kenji's email address so we can reach out (since it seems he is dormant here on the forums)? If he has proof of the serial number, he should be able to go to the police in that GC's area and prove that GC is selling his stolen merchandise.

Did you end up buying the guitar before it ends up somewhere else? That is pretty amazing that you were able to connect it back to this guy's post from 2014. Crazy! I hope it can somehow get back to the original owner, if he still wants it!

Hope that someone can get in touch with him soon before it moves. I'm sure that GC deals with stolen stuff pretty regularly, so maybe as long as Kenji's friend Tyler still has the police report it'll be a pretty easy process.

Unfortunately I can't pull up email addresses any more. Used to be able to with the old forum software. But I have reached out to someone who can. Hopefully we can pull this off in time.

I suppose the other option is to call the local police and let them know.

G,C is pretty damn good about stolen stuff, that is why when they get a trade or someone selling it has a 30 day hold

I have experienced this first hand they had a dude trying to sell them my stolen guitar, they ran the serial number and called me immediately, with GC help got it back and put a criminal in jail.
