Hey EB folks!

I am interested in buying an Axis from 2021. The original owner put a trem stopper in the cavity. Why would someone do this if the guitar bridge is not really meant to be pulled back by design? From what I understand, the Axis is not meant to be pulled back, only dropped forward/down.

Could/should I remove it just to get it back to stock? I don't have a tonne of experience with these bridges so apologize if the questions are pretty elementary in nature.

All the best,

Looks like a Tremol-no. Maybe they had the bridge set up to float at one point? (Like the Luke does- the bridge is set up at an angle from the bridge, rather than flush to the body.) Or wanted to lock it so you couldn't go down?

To put it back to stock you'd want to pull it out and replace with a different claw (not sure if you have the original but it's a generic part). But if it's not bothering you when unlocked, you could also leave it in place. (Personally I found the screw protruded from the cavity a bit and I didn't love it.)

So in this case, I can just unlock it and then be able to dive bomb downward?

Edit: I just watched a video on this product and it seems I have the choice to go hardtail mode or dive only; I will experiment when I get it!
