My Matcha Green Axis SS was NOT satin.
Ahhhh, well that’s good news. I have never had a satin guitar, but I think I prefer them gloss. Maybe if I held one in my hands I would feel that they are equally nice but until then it’s comforting to go with what I know.

Green guitars don't sell!
Hahaha, so I’ve heard!

Seems like yesterday that I had a green Axis Tribute, but that was around 12 years ago. It’s on my list of guitars that I should have kept. The list is pretty long and now those guitars seem like obvious keepers, but at the time of sale I thought it made sense.

I’ve tried to minimize my collection to two Axis Super Sports, two fretless StingRays, and two Les Pauls. When I play out I like to bring two guitars of the same model so that when I switch they feel the same. I’m in an 80’s rock cover band called All She Wrote. We play mostly hair band songs.

Glenn, we play in your area sometimes. Well, I guess Milbury and Milford are as close as we got to your area so far. But we play in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. We just picked up a new bass player last week so we do not have any shows booked right now while he learns all of the songs.

I have trimmed my guitars to a Danelectro 12 string I never play and have fro sale, and my two refinished and restored Axis Sports, '97 & '99 for the reason you stated, as well as consistency through my Helix. I loved my Silo Special but it was just different enough through the Helix that it wasn't practical for me and I didn't want to tweak a full set of presets just to make it work, adding complexity to an already mentally hectic live setup for me. And the Axis just suits me perfectly in all ways. I am a tad heavier on the bass side which bothers me because I currently don't even have a bass gig!

I’m really happy with my new Axis. I thought the top had black edges but the edge is actually a darker green. It’s gorgeous. It’s super light at 7 pounds 5 ounces. I played it at band practice this week and it sounded great.
