Welcome to the forum dude. My ebmm journey also started with a luke. But a luke ii.

Enjoy the forum and the guitars.

Thanks muchly.

The Luke II would have been quite nice. What colour was yours?

It would have been nice if I had got into these guitars earlier; but I absolutely love the Lukes that I have, even though some amazing Lukes came and went long before I discovered them.

Very nice indeed. There must have been very few built.

I gather that your L3's build code is 919-LQ-DR-00-CS-CR.

Colour code 'LQ' is Bali Blue Burst.
No it is a L4 unfortunately the archive web page is gone, this was a one off vault exclusive, both blue Lukes are from the vault and one off's, the DD I is rare as is the DuBaldo Magliano

I am not sure why I said 'L3', as clearly it is an L4 (and if I meant 'L3', I should have expressed it as 'LIII', not 'L3'). Perhaps it was a tyop. ;-)

Would you mind providing me with the information about your instrument from the serial number database? (You can omit the serial number if you like.)

I found the following advertisement for a Luke III with a colour described as 'Bali Burst':

The serial number database for that guitar does not specify the colour.

Serial #G66178
ManufacturedJanuary 15th, 2013
Build Code919-LQ-DR-00-CS-CR
ModelLuke 3 HH

The finish on your L4 is different, which is described as 'Bali Pearlburst' in the advertisement.

I am not sure if these colours are the same.

Welcome and great job on your selection of Luke's! I know the feeling as I have been addicted to Luke guitars since the first one came out in 1993. (I am dating myself now.) I wish I would not have sold any of them!

Thanks Scott.

There are, and have been, so many great Lukes. This type of guitar is very versatile, comfortable, and it just looks great.

I wish that I had discovered these guitars earlier, even though I saw videos of Steve Lukather playing them years ago.
