Make sure to have your luggage claim ticket handy at LAX. They won't let you leave with you luggage without it.

Tiffles, for the long flight I usually have an MP3 player and a Palm Pilot loaded with games. Though I've never flown as far as your gonna.

I have a friend at work that's done it I'll ask him.

Your gonna love the US. :D

Tiff, who are you flying with? Most long haul flights to the US have personal entertainment units, even in cattle class. I know that's the case with Qantas, Bristish Airways and Singapore Airlines at least. You'll find that you'll have a choice of movies, TV shows, games and music that you can select at will. Other than that, your own MP3 player is a good option (but bring spare batteries), plus a good book.

love quantas!!.... all i can say is...FREE WINE.... :D :D
and the movie thing is good.

this is my first big flight/trip/adventure. so so so so much nicer than what ive flown before, but i spose that isnt hard lol.

ive been to vanuatu but its only a 3 hour flight, they lost the international plane...and the domestic one had the one working generator fail in the air while we were in it... no oxygen for us lol. good ol vanair. so quantas is rocking my world at the moment.:D

The only difference is, you wont see any kangaroo's jumping down the main street. And remember to tip

HEHE I remember having a ball in Geelong (near melbourne for those non-australians)... faking that I was an american to a taxi driver.. and that I was wanting to see kangaroos bounding down the street like I had seen in the movies. Hilarious... I bet my faked accent was terrible but the cabbie driver believed certainly believed it..

Tiff,

I was in the UK last year, if your spending some time in London I'd highly recommend a Blue Badge night time walking tour.

We did one and it was really interesting, 2 hours - 3 pubs, that's my kind of walking tour!!!

If you can get to Bath they have an awesome Guitar Shop called "Rare & Vintage" if I remember correctly. Some beautiful old instruments in there.

But then once you hit Phoenix & The Dude man you're on your own! Just pack an industrial size packet of Berocca.

Have a great time.

Dring lots of water, and if you're in economy (who isn't) bring a big water bottle 'cause they never give you enough of the stuff.
A book and an MP3 player are also good. And comfy clothing.

Or you could just drink as much as you can, and knock yourself out:D
